Alarms started blazing through the building, loud enough to wake Nina up from her almost unconscious state. Igor grabbed Bucky's arm and turned in an empty hallway. Bucky put Nina down and she held herself against the wall for support.
"What are you doing?" Nina asked him softly. "You promised! You promised you weren't going to come after me!" She accused him. "You cant be here!"
"That was almost 40 years ago," Bucky argued.
"I'm gonna go disable the alarm," Igor said. "You two should probably go without me," he said and ran off.
"Its still a promise! I spent 40 years without you and you've come after me after a day!" Nina argumented. She couldn't believe Bucky was threatening his own safety to help her.
"Sorry if I love you and I can't bare to see you hurt!" Nina's face suddenly softened, and a look of sadness came upon her face.
"If you love me, you're gonna have to leave me here," she said hesitantly. Bucky frowned, a look of horror on his face. That made no sense. How could she possibly ask him to leave her in the hands of Hydra?
"I can't do that," he told her.
"Yes, you can. And you will," she said firmly. "You have to. They know who I am, they know I'm here. The alarms are blasting because I'm gone. Once they find me, they'll stop searching, which means you can run away. I'll slow them down, give you some time-"
"Nina, please, I don't want to run away," he tried. "I cant leave you here in their hands." Nina sighed. She placed her hands behind his neck and pulled him down, placing a soft kiss on his lips.
"You promised me," she whispered.
They suddenly heard gun shots and footsteps coming their way.
"Please Bucky, you promised. I'm begging you, get out of here." Bucky threw his arms around her and squeezed her tightly. He then took a step back and reached inside of his shirt, grabbing his dog tags and throwing then around Nina's neck.
"Don't forget me," he told her. Nina gave him one last sad smile.
"I wouldn't dare."
With that, she got free form his embrace and ran back to where she was, punching and fighting as many soldiers as she could.
Bucky hesitated, before finally walking away.
