It was finally Monday. A day you thought you'd never look forward to. But you had spent the weekend anxiously awaiting the teams arrival. Or more so, Spencer's arrival.
Though he did get back early, you'd till had to wait until work started up again to see him. You couldn't seem too desperate. As you pushed open the doors to the BAU, you couldn't keep the smug smile off of your face. But to your disappointment, the half lit office was almost empty. To be fair, you were an hour early which was rare.
You almost debated waiting in your car until you caught sight of Garcia walking back to her room."Gracie!" You called out, a bit too enthusiastic. She turned around with the sharp glare of her eyes. "Oh are we are speaking terms now?"
Instantly remembering the cruel words you yelled at her, you couldn't quite blame her for the cold shoulder.
"
Garcia, can we please talk?" You tried again.
"No." She replied quickly, turning her back to you.
"Please." You begged.Garcia faced you once more. But you could tell by the look in her eyes that this wouldn't go in your favor.
"You know what Y/N? You've always told me to stick up for myself. Well, this is me doing that. I'm not just going to be around for you when you feel like gossiping and then get tossed aside when I actually try to care for you. I'm worth way more then that." And with that, she left you alone again. You didn't have much time to wallow in self pity as just as you got to your desk, the front doors swung open.
Excitement got the best of you as you called out "Spence"
"Morning Y/N." Hotch greeted, apparently ignoring your comment."Morning." You replied solemnly, sinking down in your chair with embarrassment.
It didn't take long for the rest of the team to file in. Well most of them. Spencer had still yet to arrive.
On her way in, JJ stopped at you desk.
"Hey JJ." You smiled.
"How've you been Y/N?" She asked, perhaps hinting at you being alone.
You hesitated briefly, remembering the long and endless nights made better only by texting Spencer at random hours."Fine." You settled with. "How're the kids?"
"They're great. Remind me, I've got to show you this video of them later." She smiled, her eyes lighting up at the mention of the children.
"Of course." You said, though you know you wouldn't be reminding her.20 minutes went by, which felt like twenty hours. You spent the time mindlessly clicking a pen on your desk as you daydreamed of completely unrealistic scenarios. You got so caught up with them that you didn't even notice the new presence in the room.
"Hey Y/N."
As you looked up, your smile returned.
"Spence." And then, shocking yourself and Spencer, you jumped it of you chair and wrapped your arms around his neck. Spencer didn't hesitate before returning the hug.
His strong embrace and familiar scent made you never want to pull away. Having him back was better than you imagined, even if he was gone a short period.Suddenly remembering where you were, and who was watching, you slowly pulled away from him.
"How are you?" You both said in sync. You shared a laugh before studying Spencer's form again. You missed his quirky sweaters and iconic satchel.
"It's good to have you back." You risked admitting.
His mouth twitched into a sloppy smile.
"It's good to be back." He responded. For a few seconds time dragged out. You locked eyes with Spencer, his hazel eyes telling you a million different things. It was just as he opened his mouth to say something that the doors swung open once more. A brunette woman ran in, her long hair a mess, tears staining her cheeks as she let out cries oh hysteria. You could make out a "Please help." But the rest sounded like murmurs as the woman waved around a stack of papers.
Your view of her was blocked as members of the team started to surround her. As Morgan Handed you a stack of papers, presumably the ones she was holding, you noticed Spencer wasn't at your side anymore.
Scanning the room you saw that he was now holding the woman by her back and arm as he stably guided her to a conference room."She's says her sister went missing this morning." Morgan informed, turning your attention back to the files. Flipping through the stack, you found clippings of pictures and basic identification information. Her sister looked just like her.
"How'd the sister find out she was gone?" You asked.
"Apparently she went in her room to bring her breakfast and instead of her sister being there, there was blood covering the sheets. She said she's called all friends a and family and no one has seen her." Morgan explained, raising a concerned brow at you.
"How much blood?" You asked, closing the file.
Charlotte was the missing woman's name, Caroline her sister."That's what we need to find out. Are you up for it?" Morgan asked gently.
"Always." You responded, getting your stuff together. Before leaving you turned to grab a sweater off the back of your chair. You turned just in time to see Spencer in the conference room, Caroline completely snuggled into him as Reid hesitantly wrapped an arm around her."Y/N?"
You snapped you attention away from them and quickly left the office.I'm sorry it's been forever since I updated. ♥️♥️
