I take a deep breath once outside, standing on the top step near the school's front doors, welcoming the fresh air. I was thankfully able to make it through the day, though honestly, I was a bit uncomfortable for most of it. The physics teacher still hounds me, that conversation between those girls is still scratching at my brain and, on top of it all, I had the two troublemakers on my tail all day. At least, they've been relatively pleasant, but it was still strange being with them after everything. After a while, though, I eased back into it, reminded that they aren't so bad as friends— a little out of my comfort zone, but that was nothing new. I'm suddenly alerted by a pair of arms wrapping around my shoulders: one belonging to Liam; the other, to Ethan, who appear at my sides with matching grins that contrast my light frown.

"Hiya, Y/N," greets the redhead in an excited voice.

"Miss, us?" adds Ethan. It was then they spotted my downfallen expression. The two had caught me off-guard when I was in the middle of thinking about my day and caught a glimpse of my emotions. In an instant, their faces turn grim.

"What happened?" Ethan questions, his voice low and serious, which shocked me some. I gulp, not sure if I want to even involve them, knowing they'd likely do something rash, but my silence only digs me a deeper grave. Liam's hand grips my shoulder firmly as he ducks his head to meet with my lowered eyes. The rust-colored optics seem to bury deep into my soul as he gives a demand.

"Tell us right now." I sigh, seeing no other way out of this. I suppose they do have a right to know.

"It's no big deal, really. There was just a few girls acting dumb in class this morning." My vague response causes their eyes to narrow even further.

"What do you mean by that?" Ethan asks with bite only to be rudely interrupted by a person from behind.

"Move out of the way, already! Some of us wanna get home, you know?" The boy huffs, his words directing the attention of all three of us, who are blocking almost the entirety of the stairs. The duo shot the blonde some of the nastiest glares I have ever seen, causing the younger-looking teen to back up a bit. His face filled with panic the moment he realized who he had spoken to. These guys have a bad reputation, after all. It was not surprising to see him sweating buckets the moment he realized he fucked up. The newcomer clears his throat and adjusts his round glasses before quickly sputtering out an apology.

"Oh! Uh, s- sorry! Never mind!" With his head lowered, the blonde attempts to slip past Liam only to be snagged by the shoulder and roughly pulled back. The boy yelps.
