A/N: ♪♫ We're like Na Na Na, then we're like yeah, yeah, yeah... Always like Na Na Na ♫♪ Sing with me! Here's another chappy as promised guys! :D
Mason’s been acting different lately. It’s like he’s avoiding me. Literature is the one class that we have together, usually he always seats next to me but recently, he’s sitting next to Tyler. Whenever I approached him, he’d quickly walk away or make up an excuse to leave. When I see him in the hallways, I would call after him but he wouldn’t turn around. I guess he didn’t hear me? But still. He’s not that deaf that every time I yell he wouldn’t hear.
At lunch I would try to strike up a conversation with him, but he’s always answering me with one word sentences or just shrugs or pretends to not hear me and carry on with what he’s doing.
I’ve observed that he’s only acting this way with me. He’s his usual self when he’s talking to others.
Also, this week, he’s always leaving early to go home. I know he’s making up excuses, because he has used two of them twice this week. I wonder what is wrong with him.
I know that we’re past the awkward stage of getting to know each other because we’ve already shared a lot of personal things with each other, so I know that in some way, we’re friends.
Today, I plan to get answers from him, whether he likes it or not. I’m sick and tired of this treatment from him and not knowing what I did to deserve this.
I hurriedly went out of my class and rushed outside the school to catch up to him.
“Mason! Wait up!” I yelled. I saw him walking towards his car.
“Why are you in such a hurry?” I am panting from running the small distance from the school entrance to the parking lot. I know that what I asked is a dumb question. But I want answers and I want them now. I’ll go and carry on this act like I don’t recognize he’s avoiding me.
He ignored me and continued to walk.
“Are you going somewhere?” I asked. Smooth Chloe… Real smooth. I feel like an idiot for talking to someone who clearly doesn’t want to talk to me.
He still isn’t talking to me even when we got inside his car; at least he let me inside his car.
“Did I do something?” I looked at him. His eyes fixated on the road. “Mason?”
“You’re giving me the cold treatment? For what?” I’m starting get pissed at him. Why can’t he just tell me what I did, or what is wrong?
“Why don’t you just tell me what’s wrong?” my voice is starting to become louder. I’m not the most patient person in the world and he knows it. Sooner or later he’s going to have to talk, because I know that he gets annoyed easily too. “What di-”
“What do you want from me?!” he snapped. He raised his voice so I know that he’s either pissed at me or annoyed. I always seem to have that affect on him.
“I want you to tell me what I did so I know why you’re acting like a complete asshole!” I yelled.
“If you want to nag at someone, or casually catch a ride? Go bother your boyfriend.” His voice dripping with resentment.
“Boyfriend?” What is he talking about? “I don’t have a boyfriend!”
“Oh really? You and James aren’t dating then?” I was taken aback by his question.
