The knight of Light and the Maiden of Old

The day a new dawn broke the night,

a knight of light, a golden one

a shining sword of metal and blood

rode on stars to fight the war undone.

As warlords and lovers they part and unite

powers, over which only they have the might

to bind, to spread war and cause delight.

And many a day they meet and fight,

in endless embrace, lust and light

only for the knife of men to set them to flight.

The knight in golden armor strong,

sung his lady wife many a song,

for she was pale with eyes so dark,

as embers in the night, her lips so pale and blue and cold,

and on her cheeks no trace of crimson red,

but she was his and only his to behold,

the knight of light and the maiden of old.
