-G:"Si Don,metastasi. Non capisco perché il nonno non me ne abbia parlato."

-D:"Da quanto non lo vedi?"

-G:"L'ho visitato ieri,e non ha fatto trapelare nulla. Sembrava tranquillo e granitico,come sempre."

D:"Forse è proprio per questo motivo. E' sempre stato granitico nella fede. Incrollabile. Non voglio dire che sia un supereroe o Nostro Signore,ma sicuramente Egli vive e splende in lui,da sempre. E' stato un esempio da seguire per molti cristiani " tiepidi" di allora,nel Vecchio Mondo; ha avuto una situazione familiare molto difficile,ma ha saputo distinguersi per il suo ottimismo e il suo zelo con cui proclamava la Parola di Dio davanti a tutti. Diceva sempre che tutte le insidie erano per lui un'occasione di crescita spirituale e gli strumenti che Dio utilizzava attraverso di lui per testimoniare come vivere quotidianamente il Vangelo. Forse c'era un po'di orgoglio personale in tutto questo,ma sapeva che agli occhi del Signore questo sarebbe piaciuto,nonostante le critiche degli uomini.

-G: "Non pensavo che tu lo conoscessi così bene,Don."

-D: "Della sua gioventù me ne ha parlato il parroco della sua cittadina di origine,Don Marco,con cui aveva stretti rapporti. Lo conobbi,da giovane seminarista,quando divenne adulto, e lui e don Marco furono i primi a coordinare gli interventi di transizione tra i due mondi e a proporre che le chiese fossero costruite al posto della banche,oramai diventate inutili. Un gesto simbolico,evangelico,che fece scalpore ma che venne appoggiato da molti rappresentanti dell'ultimo governo; l'abolizione del denaro fu uno degli ultimi provvedimenti che prese,prima di decadere,lasciando spazio alla civiltà solidale cristiana.

-G:"Mi aveva accennato queste cose,ma preferiva non parlarne,come se fosse un dispiacere."

-D:"E' probabile che non lo abbia fatto perché furono tempi duri. Questa sua proposta,come molte altre,incontrò delle opposizioni ,e la strada fu lunga. Bisogna dire però,che un'altra sua caratteristica è sempre stata la sua umiltà. Deciso,determinato,talvolta anche rabbioso nei confronti e nelle discussioni,con una rabbia che ricorda quella di Gesù quando rovesciò i banchetti davanti al tempio. Ma alla fine,preferiva affidarsi al Signore,consapevole che un milione di braccia e un miliardo di parole non sarebbero servite a niente senza l'aiuto del Signore.

-G:"Tu lo ammiri molto,vero?"

-D:"Certo,come non potrei? Il Signore ti ha fatto un grande dono,cerca di tenertelo stretto.(1)

-G: "Ovviamente. Io provo a fargli visita quando posso,ma la maturità e le attività con i ragazzi della parrocchia mi portano via molto tempo.(2)Parlare con lui mi è utile anche per spiegare molte cose ai ragazzi e spiegargli molti aspetti della società. A proposito,vorrei farti una domanda,credo che tu sia la persona adatta."

-D:"Sono a tua disposizione."

-G:"Quanto credi che durerà questo modello di società? Nonno mi ha parlato della sovversione dei valori che ha caratterizzato il Vecchio Mondo. Ma rimarrà per sempre "il Vecchio Mondo"? O potrà tornare un giorno? Perdonami per tutte queste domande schiette ma ho voluto essere diretto"

-D: "Tuo nonno ha fatto bene a parlartene. Credo però che questa domanda tu la debba fare a lui,in realtà è lui la persona più adatta,più preparata e con maggiore esperienza. Io posso dirti semplicemente una cosa: Dio si è manifestato chiaramente,aprendoci gli occhi per farci vedere tutte le nostre nefandezze; ma questo non significa che il Male dal cuore degli uomini sia stato estirpato completamente. Non siamo diventati perfetti come Nostro Signore. Quindi tutto è possibile."

-G"Okey,scusami un attimo......... mi ha telefonato mamma,devo andare. Hanno ricoverato nonno."
