Days later.

"Jason, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have left the way that I did."

"I don't want to hear it Lila. You can't slide your way back into my life so easily. You made your choice. You made that decision for a reason."

"I was stupid." I watched as she nervously rubbed her arms. The light from the sun blinded her face from my view.

"You have to live with those stupid consequences." I sat on the porch, away from her.

"You don't want us together?"

"Did you want us together before you left me? Did you ask yourself that question before you wrote that note?"

"I want you now."

"Sorry, I'm unavailable." I examined her from head to toe.

"You don't want me?" Lila asked, walking towards me. Her face was fully visible; clearly on the brink of tears.

"I'm not giving you anymore power over me."

"Do you still love me?"

"You've overstayed your welcome." I didn't allow her watery eyes to impinge me. "Feel the pain that I felt." I stood to my feet and walked to the door.

"I don't want to feel that Jason." She charged in front of me to blocked my path.

"Do you think I did?" I raised my voice as I stared down on her.

"Take me back." She wrapped her native hands around my neck. Her eyes were searching for any dose of deficiency. It took every spore in me not to lapse. "Please, I don't want to spend anymore time away from you." She begged, leaning closer to my lips. I tilted my head back. She suspended her urge, due to my dismissal.

"Get off of me." I quietly hissed, waiting for her to break our attachment. She didn't. Instead, she moved in closer. "I don't want to hurt you." I looked over her head as I threatened.

"You could never."

"Don't doubt anything about me." I pushed her away from me. I thought I was going to lapse from her touch, but I grew mad in her company.

"Just say it." She urged. I waited for clarification. "Say you hate me. I dare you." She pushed me. I didn't move much. A smiled broke upon my face. A smile of acrimony. I ignored her and walked to the door.

"Don't fuck with me." I looked back at her. "I'm capable of a lot more than you think. Don't come back here." I opened the door and walked in.

"You could never hate me Jason. Admit you still love me." She whined behind me. With my back turned, I kicked behind me and shut the door. Lila began smacking her hand against the barrier.

The weight of my eyelids and the comforts of the sheets felt as a paralyzing treat. In more simpler words, I was too comfortable to get out of bed. The sun was being a menace. I used my pillow as an aegis against the sun. My phone was buzzing under my head. I grabbed it and slid it away from me.

I snuck a peek of the screen. Marissa's name showed up. I jumped and reached for the damn thing, but it slid off the bed. I dove for the phone and to my disbelief, I caught it. Too bad my hand didn't catch the fucking ground. My shoulder smacked against the floor.

"SHIT!" I laid flat on my back with the phone in my hand. I answered and carried it to my ear. "What's up?" I answered, hiding the pain from my throbbing, right shoulder.

"Good morning to you too." She bubbled.

"Good morning Ms. Small." I winced sitting up.

"Did you sleep well?"
