Belina sighed as she heard someone knocking on the front door, she glanced at Cesc who was sleeping next to her before she silently climbed out of bed.

The brunette pulled on her pink and navy jersey dressing gown over her cream tapestry floral cami and shorts and headed for the door, the last thing she wanted to do was wake Cesc when he hadn’t been sleeping well lately.

Opening the door Belina stared shocked at the sight of the man outside, she swallowed knowing that if he was there then she was in a lot of trouble; she watched as he produced an envelope knowing what it was.

“Hola Belina… your madre requests your presence at her home along with the presence of senor Fàbregas and her grandson,” the man said as Belina tighten her hold on her dressing gown, she made sure that it was closed as she watched the man that worked for her mother, knowing that her mother knew she was back with Cesc.

Belina nodded her head as she took the envelope from the man, she swallowed as she looked at the details that she had been given and wished that there was some way around it.

Veronica Gomez had never approved of the fact that Belina had dumped the man that she had chosen for her daughter and had chosen to go out with Cesc; she had even been least happy to hear that two years later Cesc had impregnated her daughter and dumped her because of it.

“Gracias,” Belina whispered as the man nodded at her and left, she carefully closed the front door as her boyfriend of three weeks appeared from their bedroom; he looked at her confused wondering what was going on.

The brunette bit her lip as she tried to remember the last time she had seen her mother, Belina had supported herself for years and Veronica had made it clear that she didn’t approve of anything that her daughter did.

“Bel?” Cesc asked curiously as the brunette moved to sit in the living room, she continued to stare at the letter knowing that there was no way of turning her mother down; when Veronica Gomez wanted something, she got it.

Belina took a deep breath as he sat down next to her concerned, she handed him the letter knowing that this was the last thing that they needed right now; Daniella was still refusing to return to Barcelona with Lia and it was clear she was going to put up a fight about this.

“Your madre wants to see us,” Cesc said he remembered the last time that he had seen Veronica and she had been far from welcoming, it was before Belina had moved to London to be with him; she had hated him because he wasn’t like the men that she wanted her daughter to be with.

Belina nodded her head as she groaned, her mother was the most difficult person to be around and she had never been happy with the daughter that she had gotten; she had wanted one to be like her.

“It’ll be okay,” Cesc said as he pulled the brunette into his arms, he held her close knowing that everything was going to be fine; he wasn’t going to let Veronica scare him especially when he hadn’t when he had first dated her daughter. Belina raised an eyebrow at him, even she knew that it wasn’t going to be okay whatever her mother wanted was going to be trouble for the couple.

“So how are things between you and Lina?” Gerard asked as he looked at Cesc, he knew that his friend had seemed happier lately especially since he had gotten back with Belina and everyone knew about it.

Cesc smiled as he glanced at his friend, he knew that some of his friends were worried about his hurried relationship with Belina but he had never been this happy with Daniella; it was like he was finally settling down and starting to actually think about his future.

The two footballers watched Alejandro train with a couple of his team-mates, he still had his arm in a cast but Cesc had a plan to make it up to him; he wanted to take Alejandro to one of his training sessions so that a couple of his team-mates could sign his cast for his birthday.

“Things are going well…” Cesc said simply as he smiled as he watched his son play, he was doing everything in his power to make up for the time that he had missed and he was going to continue being the best father possible for him.

Gerard raised an eyebrow at his friend, he knew that Cesc was hiding something from him and it was something that had happened that morning; something that was clearly bothering his best friend.

“Veronica wants to see us,” Cesc revealed making Gerard look at him, everyone who had known the couple when they first dated knew how much Belina’s parents had disapproved of their relationship; they had made it perfectly clear that the footballer wasn’t suitable for their daughter to date.

Cesc took a deep breath as he remembered the first time that he had been introduced to Victor and Veronica Gomez; the two had thrown a party to show just how much the footballer didn’t fit into their world and he had been intimidated, the only thing that had saved their relationship was the fact that Belina had comforted him.

“I have a feeling that she’s going to try and come between Bel and I… maybe even push her towards Pedro again,” Cesc muttered bitterly as he thought about the boyfriend that Belina had before she’d dated him; Pedro was his complete opposite and the boy her parents had chosen for her, the one they had hoped she’d marry.

Gerard shook his head, he patted Cesc on the shoulder as Alejandro jogged past them; the two watched him as Cesc ran a hand through his hair.

“That’s never happen… you and Lina, you’re meant to be,” Gerard said making Cesc look at him, the taller Spaniard chuckled knowing that his two best friends were soul-mates; there was no denying that after all they had been through only to come back together again.

Belina sighed as she tidied around the house, she had been feeling a little sick after she had received the letter from her mother and she had dismissed it; she knew that it could be more but right now she didn’t want to think about it.

The brunette sighed as she ran a hand through her hair, she knew that if it was something more than this was only going to complicate things for her and Cesc.

“Por favor,” Belina whispered as she rested a hand on her flat stomach, she had felt the same when she’d first fallen pregnant with Alejandro; the brunette wanted more children with her boyfriend but they’d only been back together for three weeks and had been apart for seven years.

Belina took a deep breath as she heard Cesc and their son returned home, the brunette knew that she couldn’t tell her boyfriend that she thought she was pregnant; it would be still a little too early to tell if she was.

“Mama we’re home,” Alejandro called making Belina take a deep breath, she knew that she was going to have to keep this to herself for a while until she was sure about what was going on.
