"Are you utterly insane!?" Toni threw her hands into the air, pacing back and forth in the living room of Sweet Pea's trailer, while occasionally turning around to yell at Max. "I seriously have no damn idea what runs through that tiny head of yours."

Fangs sat at the small kitchen table, chewing on popcorn while the show never hit pause. He had already said all he needed to say, because quite frankly, he wasn't nearly as mad as the other two; she just wanted to have fun in his opinion.

"You could have gotten arrested, dumbass." Her nostrils flared with every breath she took.

"Or died." Fangs interrupted with a mouth full of popcorn.

Max, Toni, and Sweet Pea turned to him with a look that screamed, 'Really?'. He shrugged his shoulders and dug his hand back into the bowl, tossing more popcorn into his mouth faster than he could chew.

"But I didn't!" Max finally fought back. "I'm perfectly fine..physically, at least." She added.

Toni rolled her eyes and massaged her temples. All she wanted was for her friend to be safe, rational, and collected. And the stunt she pulled today was the complete opposite of that.

"I don't understand why I'm getting so much heat, and Jug gets off scot-free."

Toni held her finger up in a motherly way, "Oh don't you worry about that. I already told him that the race was dangerous, and the next time I see him I'll be letting him have it for putting you in that position." She puffed out her cheeks and blew out a loud huff of air, placing both folded arms on top of her head.

"Whatever, dude. If you had been put into that situation then you'd understand the overwhelming spur of emotions that came out of nowhere." The whole trailer fell silent as Max began to fight back. "You don't know what it's like to ... to have no control over your own life all in just a matter of 3-4 weeks. So excuse me if I acted just a bit irrational." She rolled her eyes and wiped the snot that began spilling from her nose.

Max knew she was unstable; emotionally and mentally. But could anyone blame her? Going from the basic Northside girl with minimal damage, to a stereotypical Southsider with hidden anger issues acting on impulse – she was bound to act out every now and then. The fellow Serpents before the brunette only wanted to keep their friend safe. However, with all the teen chemicals and untreated mental illness that danced within the flesh form that was Maxine Myers, she had a difficult time deciphering their protection from control.

A giant sigh released from the depths of Toni's lungs, and she shook her head. This was going nowhere. "Max. I love you. And I'd love to argue all day, but I have a shift at the Wyrm. Take some time to relax and think about our position as well."

It was obvious that she meant that in the most sincere yet demanding way. There was no denying that Max was being stubborn, per usual, but at this point her friends weren't in the mood to tolerate it. As Toni left the trailer and cranked her bike, Fangs moved from the rustic wood dining table to the couch and sat right between the unknown lovebirds.

Sweet Pea sat at the other end of the couch, his arms crossed like usual, and his left knee bouncing up and down. He hadn't made eye contact with Max since they arrived at his place, and wasn't planning on letting up anytime soon.

"So anyone want to watch a movie?" Fangs asked, completely unaware of the tension remaining. As sweet and seemingly innocent as his question was, it still managed to irritate the infamous Pea even more. His large build arose from the couch cushion and stomped to his room, slamming the door shut. All four walls shook from the impact, startling the young girl and sending her heart deep into the pit of her stomach. She looked back at Fangs who just shrugged.
