I stood by my car, looking at Mike and trying so hard not to bounce around.
"So, I'll talk to my boss and if there's any opening, I'll let you know." Mike told me with a smile.
I grinned and jumped up and down.
"Thank you so much. You're a life saver!" I exclaimed excitedly.
"I do what I can." He said with a grin.
I smiled and grabbed onto my car to keep my feet on the ground.
I was so anxious to get home.
"Alright. I'll let you go. Looks like you're about to pee yourself if you don't see Brian." Mike said with a chuckle.
I grinned as I looked at him but his eyes didn't match his smile.
"I love that guy so much. Sometimes I feel like I need him more then air." I admitted with a blush.
"Lucky guy. Does he know this?" He asked with a cocked eyebrow.
I looked down again.
"Can't tell him. It would go straight to his head." I laughed.
Mike nodded and pulled me into a hug.
"I'll keep your secret." He whispered in my ear.
"Thanks." I said, pulling away.
I opened my car door and got in, starting up the car.
I waved to Mike as I pulled out of the lot and tried to drive at a normal speed.
The twenty minute drive seemed to drag on and I sighed in relief when I pulled into the driveway.
I jumped out and practically ran through the door only to see Matt, Jimmy and Zacky waiting for me.
"Hey guys." I said with a smile as I went and gave them all hugs and kisses.
Their faces softened from the hard stares they were in a few seconds ago.
"How was coffee?" Jimmy asked.
"It was fun. Mike's pretty funny." I said with a smile.
I saw Zack'y eye twitch, something that only happens when he's trying to reign in his anger.
"What's wrong?" I asked Zacky.
"Why were you out with that guy?" Jimmy asked.
"He's my friend." I said simply.
"Yeah, I'm sure he's a great friend." Zacky grumbled.
"Talking about great friend," I said pointedly looking at all of them.
"Why didn't you tell me you all talked to Mike and that it almost ended in a fight." I asked with my hands on my hips.
They all looked at each other and then looked down.
"Yeah, don't have anything to say now, do you?" I said.
"He just needed to know where the line was." Matt said.
"How did it almost turn into a fight?" I asked.
"Because he said some shit that was uncalled for. Or so I've been told." Came Brian's soft voice from behind me.
I turned around and saw him leaning against the door frame, looking at me.
I smiled at him and he let a smile slip across his face.
"You guys are paranoid." I said, turning back to the guys.
"No, you are just too nice." Jimmy said.
"Yeah, way to nice." Brian said quietly.
I turned and looked at him, a sad look in his eyes.
We stood looking at each other, not speaking.
"Well, we gotta go." Matt said, smacking Zacky to get him moving.
He jolted and came forward, giving me a hug and a kiss on the forehead.
They said bye to me and then Brian, walking out noisily.
I closed the door behind then and when I faced Brian I saw him walking over to the love seat.
I leaned against the doorway, looking at him.
"You okay, babe?" I asked softly.
"Why do you make it so easy to love you?" He grumbled.
I chuckled slightly.
"I'm just lovable and nice." I smiled.
"Yeah, too nice." He said again.
He was laying on the couch now, his arm draped over his eyes.
I walked silently over to him and sat by his feet.
"What's so wrong about that?" I asked quietly.
"It makes you an easy target for people to take advantage of you. Trust me, I know." He said silently.
I put my hands gently on his shins and soothing rubbed them until he squirmed.
"You never complain when I'm nice to you." I said softly with a smile on my face when I saw him start to breath hard.
"I'm your boyfriend. You're supposed to be nice to me." He said shakily.
"Oh really? Well, did you hear what you just said?" I asked.
He didn't say anything.
He looked at me.
I slowly crawled up his body and laid my chin on his chest.
"You are my boyfriend. I could have a million guys chasing after me and I wouldn't even see them because I'm with you. I'm so in love with you. I don't even notice them. I don't need them. All I need is you." I whispered.
