It had been a week since me and Louis ran into Harry and his date at the restaurant. I haven't been out of the dorm, except to go to class since then. Niall came over to visit me, once. I've been in a funk. But I didn't like Harry. We weren't even friends. Were we?
I looked at my phone, I had one text.
' From unknown: Can we talk? -H '
My stomach felt all weird, once I read that. I'm assuming it was from Harry. I shut my phone off, and lay down. I cannot think about Harry. I don't like him, we're not even friends. I kept telling myself this until I drifted to sleep.
I awoke to knocking at my door. I looked to see what time it was, then looked for Aleah. She wasn't here. I answered the door, half asleep.
"Emma? Did I wake you?" I hear a voice say.
"Huh.. Wha? No! I've been awake" I mumbled.
I finally open my eyes to find Harry standing in front of me.
"Harry? What are you doing here? It's almost eleven!" I yawn. I fight to keep my eyes open.
"You never replied to my text, so I came here"
"Ok?" I say, standing aside so he could come in.
"Are you mad at me?" he says looking around the room.
"No? W-why would I be?" I stuttered. He looked at me with thoughtful eyes.
"You just haven't talked to us, I figured you were mad because I wouldn't let you talk to that guy at the bowling alley" he stammers. The way he uses "us" makes me cringe. I have talked to the other boys, though.
"No, it's fine" I say.
"Ok, well I'll see you around?" he says questioningly. He turns on his heel, and opens the door.
"How long have you been dating Courtney?" I ask, rubbing my eyes and laying back on my bed.
"I haven't" he says, and walks out of the room, turning the light off.
A smile appears on my face, and I find sleep again.
I woke up at around eight. I look over to Aleah's bed, but it was perfectly made, no one had touched it. I began to worry about my roommate. I call Louis.
"He-hello?" he says.
"Lou, have you talked to Aleah?"
"I haven't seen her since yesterday morning, I'm getting worried"
"I'm sure she's fine, just passed out at a party or something" he replied reassuringly.
"Ok, yeah. You're probably right" I relaxed.
"What time does your class start?" he asks, changing the subject.
"Erm nine fifteen," I say looking at my calendar.
"Wanna grab breakfast?" I hesitate.
"Um sure, why not?"
"Be there in ten" he hangs up first.
I go to the bathroom, and brush my teeth. I leave my hair natural, and put a little makeup on. I grab a pair of jeans, and my 'hipsta please' sweat shirt. I slip my glasses onto my nose, and go wait in front of the dorms.
Louis' car pulls up, and he stops to let me in. Then speeds up as I reach for the door handle. I laughed and he grinned.
"Where are we going?" I ask as I shut his car door.
"IHOP!" he says looking over at me.
"I love IHOP! How'd you know?" I giggle.
"I just figured" he smirked. I nudged his shoulder, and he smiled. "So have you talked to any of the boys?" my thoughts went back to last night, when Harry came over.
"Um, Niall. I've talked to him," I kept it short. I couldn't tell him about Harry. I didn't like him, we're not even friends.
"That reminds me, Harry is meeting us" Shit! Ugh, of course. I gulped, and mentally slapped myself.
"Cool" I spoke slowly, trying to understand what was happening. But that's just it, NOTHING was happening. Harry and I weren't even friends. I took a deep breath, to clear my mind.
I didn't like Harry, we weren't even friends.
