"Peter? Can I talk to you for a second?" Professor Strange called out before I could fully leave the room. I shot the older man a smile and nodded. I made my way over to his desk and shuffled my books from hand to hand, slightly nervous.
"What did you want to talk about?" I questioned, biting my lip.
He stared at me for a good few seconds before looking away with a sigh under his breath. "You've been less focused during class lately. I just wanted to make sure that everything was okay."
Suddenly feeling bashful I ducked my head to hid e the smile that found it's way to my lips. And no doubt the blush that rested on my checks.
"Yeah, everything's fine. You know besides the money being tight in college." I explained.
He chuckled at that which went straight to my heart. Damn this man, I thought meeting his eyes with a grin. "Do you ask this to all your students?" I asked licking my lips.
Strange cleared his throat, "Just the ones I care about." He responded. We stared at each other eyes for a minute before he looked away. "Well, I suppose if that's all. I didn't mean to take up most of your time."
I laughed at that, "Don't worry, my shift for work doesn't start until another two hours."
"Where do you work?" Strange inquired with a smirk.
"The gas station, that's close by. Nothing special. Pays the bills, sorta." I shrugged.
The older man hummed and nodded, "Well, it gets dangerous at night." He picked up a pen and wrote something down on his little notepad. I watched as his fingers moved across the yellow page with ease.
I swallowed, my throat feeling suddenly dry despite drinking water only fifteen minutes ago.
"Here. Feel free to ring me up anytime." Professor Strange said with a smile. He tore the page and handed it to me.
My fingers traced the numbers that were written. Oh fuck, I have a hot teachers number.
"Yeah, thank you professor Strange."
"Just Stephen out of class okay?" He shook his head.
"Okay, Stephen." I shivered at how his name rolled off of my tongue.
