Hey guys :) This is something new from me, way out of my comfort zone lol I'm gonna try it and see what happens. let me know what you think. if it doesn't go good then I'll delete it and go back to what i know.

"Ava baby i'm so proud" My mom sobbed as she took me in her arms and hugged me deeply.

I Ava Mendez had just graduated in becoming a doctor. All the hard work and hours of studing had finally paid off. I was now Dr Ava Mendez. I couldn't contain my excitement or the tears that were currently rolling down my cheeks. happy tears!

"I did it mommy" I whispered as my mom pulled away from me.

"You did baby. Now it's time to celebrate" She smiled excitedly

It had been 2 months since I graduated and I couldn't for the life of me find a job. Or a willing hospital that was going to take on a doctor that was so young in age. I needed more experience or I wasn't the right person for the job.

Bullshit. I had worked my damn ass off and this is what I get in return?

Grabbing the pendent around my neck something I always did when I was frustrated I let out a heavy sigh. The pendent being the only thing I have of my father. I hadn't seen my father since I was 7 years old. 16 years without my old man by my side.

I think I understood why my mom had taking us away but it still didn't help the hole in my heart. My father was the piece that was missing. I was seven I didn't understand what was going on but growing up and having your mom tell you your dad was in prison well I didn't know how to take that. I was a daddys girl and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hurting.  Even after all these years I still hurt, knowing that I didn't know him anymore and he didn't know me.

Why didn't he come looking for me?

I knew what my father was, I knew what my father got up to but he is and always will be my dad. I have so many unanswered questions, questions my mom couldn't answer. Everytime I brought it up it would fall on deaf ears. My main question though was how she get out? I may not live that life but I wasn't stupid. You love the man you love the club and I knew my mom had loved him.

"Ava honey?"

"Yeah mom?" I called slipping the pendent back under my shirt.

My mom knew I wore it, I hadn't taking it off since my dad had put it on me but everytime I caught her gazing at it I saw the hurt and anger in her eyes.

"Still no luck baby?" She asked leaning against my open door.

Shaking my head I pulled my knees up to my chin "Nobody is going to take on a graduate with little experience. All that hard work and for what?" I asked "To sit here unemployed with nothing to do. I may aswel start applying for other jobs".

Walking towards me she took a seat beside me and squeezed my hand "Don't give up hope A, you will get something. Keep your faith honey, what's for you won't go by you" She kissed my forehead before standing back up "You hungry?"

"Not really. How was work?"

My mom worked at the local hairdressers as a beauty therapist. Standing at 5 foot 5 and 39 years old my mother was beautiful. With her shoulder lenght brown hair and her bright blue eyes that reminded me so much of the clear blue sky my mom was a sight most people were jealous of. Most people usually thought she was my older sister and by most people I mean the men in this town. My mother never noticed that she had men falling at her feet but for as long as I can remember she hasn't been with a man since my dad.
