❝ lonely ❞

LOST and broken, Jungkook was a complete mess. He didn't tell his wife what happened yesterday since he had no idea how to tell her. There was a stupid start and the end was miserable.

Earlier, he even lied to her that he was going to work but he was walking specifically nowhere, ignoring the phone calls from his father and elder brother.

Jungkook needed some time alone, away from the noises and people but he couldn't think of such a place. Soon he found himself in a village, not far from the city where his grandmother lives and he was right in front of her house.

An old woman was out of the house, "Jungkook?" She narrowed her eyes and fixed her glasses. "Yes." He ran to her and hugged her.

"I missed you." He sobbed in her arms and she patted his back.

They walked inside the house and to her room. "I wanted to ask something" Jungkook nervously spoke. She sat on a chair. "What is it?" she asked.

Jungkook shifted another chair near her and sat there before holding her hands tightly. "I want to know about aunt's death," he said and there was a sudden change in his grandmother's expression, followed by a long silence.

And she gave a forced smile before speaking. "She killed herself." She blinked several times to hold back her tears.

"When she was in high school, she used to like a boy. I can't tell she liked her. She was completely obsessed with him but that boy was with someone else. I thought maybe she got over him since she stopped talking about him but little did I know she was keeping it to herself and her obsession was getting worst," she said as a tear rolled down her cheek and Jungkook wiped it.

"One day I got a call from school saying that she jumped off the school building and the blame was on that boy. The boy left Korea after that incident and I never got to know what really happened between them," she said and more tears rolled down.

Jungkook hugged her tightly and she sobbed in his arms.

After she stopped crying in his arms. "Where was my mom when it happened?" he asked her. "She was studying in Australia," she said, staring at the floor blankly.

Jungkook tried to change the topic. "You said you were knitting a scarf for me. Did you finish it?" he asked and a smile appeared on her face instantly.

She pulled a drawer and grabbed the scarf. "Look." She showed it to him. "It's so cute." He wrapped it around his neck.

"I'll surely wear this in winter," he said and she smiled widely. "I'll make something for you to eat." She was about to stand up when he stopped her.
