pursuit of hope (nagito x reader)

Island time!

I ran out of the building annoyed. And bumped into someone without meaning to.
I looked up and saw it was hajime.
"Hey you okay?"
"Yeah sorry are you alright I feel like I ran into you pretty hard."
"Im fine." He looked down at what I was carrying.
"So I guess its true there keeping nagito tied up in there huh."
"Yeah. How do you know though? You said you didnt know where he was before."
"I just got soda to tell me."
"Oh really."
"Well not exaclty. I asked him if him and nekomaru if they had seen him when we were at breakfast and they were acting pretty weird. Along with the fact that your running out of there with a empty breakfast tray. And considering what happened in there yesterday I doubt you want to eat breakfast were a guy was killed yesterday."
    "Not really no. I'm surprised you managed to gather all of that so quickly though."
    "He laughed some. Who knows maybe my talent was that I was some sort of detective."
    "You still cant remember what it was?"
    "Nope I dont have a clue. What about you though still dont remeber your last name?"
    "No but It doesnt effect me that much."
    "He never know you could of been linked to some royalty, or mafia, or the heir to a wealthy cooperation."
    "Now you sound like your just nameing off our classmates."
    "Maybe but you never know right?"
    "Yeah but I honelsty dont think it's that big of a deal. What are you doing here anyway?"
    "Well I was going to see if they had that crazy bastard all tied up but since you said they did and I dont exaclty feel like visiting right now I was going to head out to the new island. That opened up."
     "What theres a new island?"
     "Technically, yes. At breakfast monomi told us all about how she heroically slaid the beast. Or tried to till she was shooed off by the others. We all were going to head there to check out so wanna come with us?"
      I looked down at the tray "ah yeah.Just give me a sec. I need to take care of this." I headed down to the kitchen carrying the tray. Part of me felt bad that Nagito wasnt coming along to see the new island and that If I wanted to I could just head off to the  grocery store get some shears and cut him free. But while I dont agree with there decision to knock nagito out and tie up.
    I also didnt know what to do about him. As long as I made sure to bring him food theres no harm and leaving him tied up for now is there?
     I let out a sigh. I feel like a terrible person for thinking that. I finished drying the tray and headed back out to the hotel front to see Hajime waiting there for me.
      "Shall we go?" He said extending his hand and doing a  mocking small bow.
     I laughed some. "You dork."
    We headed off to the new island. It seemed that most of the students had already made it there. Or at least I'm guessing they did since we passed gundam at the gates. We walked along the new island and just from what I could see there was at least 4 new buildings to check out. We stopped by the restaurant first.
     I opened the door and just saw fuhiyko sitting there eating a burger
"Oh its just you." He looked up and said. "I'm trying to eat right now go away dumbass."
     "And I wasnt planning on bothering you small and grumpy. Where you get the burger from?"
     He looked a little taken aback. That I actually stood up to him.
    "Were in a restaurant? Where do you think I got it from smartass."
      I decided to check around for the food while hajime talked to him. Because while it was odd that we naturally just seemed to have food here. And I had yet to see a single supply truck come and go. It was just ingredients in the kitchen at the main hotel and fuhiyko had a fully made burger. I walked around the counter into the back room and sure enough saw that there was indeed pre made hamburgers back there.
       That's so weird. Did someone come in here and make them? Was monokuma secretly a chef. And if it was indeed monokuma who made them I'm not sure how safe they were to eat. Granted him hurting us was suppose to be agaisnt the rules unless we broke a rule but still I didnt trust that bear.
    I walked back out and saw it looked like hajime was still talking to fuyuhiko.
     "And I dont care if I have to sacrifice everyone on this island if it keeps me alive. If you dont like that fuck off and leave me alone."
    "Yeah yeah plans for murder. Can you let me know if you start to feel weird after eating that fuyuhiko."
    "Why would I weird. You I cant handle a fucking burger."
    "No but did you grab it from the back."
    He looked at me like I was stupid.
   "Well Im just wondering who made the burger and what they may have done to it."
    I saw a brief look of concern flash across his face but the  he decided to make a big show of taking the next bite.
     "Tastes fine to me. Now I would appreciate it if you pissed off."
    "Come on Hajime. Let's leave this fool to his potential food poisoning." I said grabbing his arm and dragging him outside the restaurant. I noticed there was a tunnel behind the restaurant. I decided to go through it and saw this cute little house on the beach. It was adorable. And I was going to head into it till I heard someone scream.
"Ibuki!" I heard hajime yell.
Oh my gosh please let there be no dead bodies we had just had the class trial yesterday and I hadnt entirely recovered from the emotionally and psychically draining situation yet.
     We ran around the corner and saw ibuki there and then saw what she was screaming about.
Nekomaru  and Akane were there fighting on the sand like really going ham on each other. I got concerned intill I heard nekomaru talking.
   "Your speed is adequate but it's still not enough each blow you land is to soft."
    Either hes really bad at trash talking or.....
"Your not using your muscles properly your althetic body is going to waste."
     Are they sparring? I feel like they must be fighting. Because while nekomaru may be a big softie I dont think hed be so talkative if he was in a actual fight.
      They went at back and worth a few times exchanging a few quips till nekomaru managed to land a punch in her gut making her drop like a rock.
   "Oh my gosh that's nekomaru super deadly blow of doom! If were lucky shell live another 5 minutes at best."
    "Akane at your power level you cant even defeat a team manager."
    "What are you saying!" Hajime yelled why are you guys fighting!?"
    "Hah this isnt a fight." Nekomaru said.
     "Yeah it's a one sided beat down."
     "Ibuki I dont think your helping." I said with a laugh.
     "That's even worse! The school rules specifically says excessive violence isnt allowed."
     "This wasnt a real fight its training Hajime!"
     "Oh so I was right they were just sparring."
     "What you knew?" Ibuki said.
     "Well I was concerned at first but with the way they were moving and what nekomaru was saying I figured they must of been training."
     "wow I didnt think that."
     "Well I did like to watch anime and read manga before I came here. And it kind reminded me of one of those fight scenes."
    "Oooooo I didnt know you were a weeb kiera-chan." Ibuki said.
    I laughed some. "Eh I feel like otaku is more fitting but your not wrong."
     Akane popped back up.
    "You doing alright?"
    "Yeah just some scratches." I looked at her just scratches and got a little concerned.
    "Alright......."
    "Besides Akane is tough a punch like that wouldnt be enough to do her in."
     "I demand a rematch and I will beat you!" She said then proceeded to wobble off the beach.
        "Bye Akane." I kind of was concerned so I decided to part ways with hajime that was going to explore the inside of the beach house and follow akane a bit. I walked with her till she got to the main road and directed her to the pharmacy that I had seen from a distance to at least get some bandaid for those scrapes of hers.
       Then I decided to head into the library. I walked in the grand doors and saw it was huge. It had sooooo many books lining the walls. My first thoughts were that surely with a library this big they must have some manga. I saw sonia, and pekoyama was there.
       "So I see you guys decided to check at the library as well."
       "Yes it is a rather large building for such a small island. Its particularly rivals the one from my home." Sonia commented
"Odd though that they would go through so much effort Especially since where the only residents." Pekoyama mentioned.
       "You think they'll have any secret passages. You know like in the movies. With something valuable to help us escape this crazy place."
     "Highly unlikely but who knows." Peko pointed out.
     "Eyyy monomi here. Reading a book. Since I'm here do you want me to explain this library to you?"
      I was slightly startled by this rabbit's appearance and the others didnt seem to like it either.
      "Its clear from your faces that I'm a nuisance I was just feeling more energetic then usual-"
     "Show me the manga! you must have some."
     "But wouldnt you rather have something academic I did prepare this place for you guys to study since your students and all."
      In a complety dead pan tone I said.         "No."
    "Oh okay I guess I'll just go then."
    I went over to see if I could find any myself. But it was hilarious to hear sonia gushing about serial killers while I was trying my best to find the manga. I'd have to ask her what she thought of creepypasta sometime. Granted those ones are fictional but you never know.  I was lost in thought searching till chiaki went over to me and tapped me on the shoulder and asked me to go to the ancient ruins along with everyone else.
     It sounded important so I put back the volume I was holding and headed over there.

Ok this one took me a bit to write but I've put out another update on this one. And am planning on maybe doing the same tomorrow. If I have time. Sorry if theres grammar mistakes I will proof read this later.
