"DEAN." Cas hissed the next morning. The tone of his voice urged Dean out of a comfortable sleep, and the hunter rolled over to raise his eyebrows at his boyfriend.

"There's white stuff on the ground." The angel explained. Dean blinked.

"I'm not dreaming right?" He asked sleepily. Cas shook his head.

"No, you're awake."

"Okay, then you BETTER be talking about snow, or I am very concerned."

"I went outside to inspect it. It tasted good."

"Please let it be snow...." Dean grumbled as he dragged himself out of bed and let Cas pull him to the window, where, fortunately for Dean, there was at least ten inches of snow.

"Snow, Dean!" Cas exclaimed happily. "Can we go play in it?"

"Of course we can, angel." Dean agreed, ruffling Cas's messy hair. For a split second, Dean thought back to a conversation he had had with Cas weeks ago, when they'd been walking to the field to experience grass. He shook off the thought, assuming in would be too ridiculous.

Either way, half an hour later, Dean found himself bundled up in several layers of plaid and jackets, chasing Cas around and playing in the snow.

"I LOVE SNOW!" Cas declared, faceplanting into the frozen powder. Dean dropped into the snow beside him and promptly started to move his arms and legs.

"What are you doing?" Cas asked, tilting his head.

"Making a snow angel." Dean offered before carefully getting up and admring the outline. Cas frowned.

"That looks nothing like me."

"Well, it's supposed to be a cliche angel. You know, with the wings and the dress?"

"I don't wear a dress." Dean laughed.

"Okay, Cas, then you make an accurate snow angel." He suggested. Cas thought for a moment, and then faceplanted into the snow again.

"Done." The angel's muffled voice called out, and Dean burst out laughing.

The pair was just finishing up a giant snowman when Charlie and Sam ran out of the bunker in their coats, and started throwing snowballs at Dean and Cas. Cas let out a screech and Dean let out a battle cry.

"We're under attack!!" He bellowed, grabbing Cas and running for cover. A snowball war ensued, and, as Cas and Charlie soon discovered, Sam and Dean fought dirty in snowball fights. Charlie's hair got filled with bits of ice, Cas got snow shoved down his pants, and, in an attempt to avenge Cas's snow filled pants, Dean had let out a hyena screech and launched himself on Sam, smashing a huge snowball on the moose head before they both collapsed to the ground, laughing.

"Cheater!" Sam cried out.

"There's no cheating in snowball fights!" Dean shot back, shoving snow in his brother's face and scrambling to his feet. "I just fight better then you, little brother!"

His victory was short lived as Charlie pegged Dean in the face with a snowball.

"Guess I just fight better then you, big brother!" She teased, grinning at Dean's shocked expression.

"That's it." He announced. "I DECLARE SNOWBALL WAR!!!" Sam gasped.

"Snowball war?" He echoed. "We haven't done that since middle school."

"Yeah, because our friends were too weak to handle it." Dean explained.

"And by that, you mean that my friend stuffed a snowball down your shirt, and you threw him into a half frozen pond."

"He was fine."

"He had hypothermia!" Dean shrugged and tossed a snowball at Charlie.

"SNOWBALL WAR TO THE DEATH!!!"

And the death match began, and dozens of snowballs were chucked back and forth, until it seemed that the mighty battle would never end.

Until Gabriel showed up out of nowhere and pitched a huge snowball at an unsuspecting Dean, who failed to notice the archangel's presence.

"DEAN!!!!" Cas yelled out and the scene seemed to play in slow motion as Cas leapt in front of Dean, taking the snowball hit.

"NOOOOOO!!!" Dean shouted, dropping to his knees and holding Cas. "DON'T YOU DIE ON ME!"

"Fear not, Dean," Cas joked, clutching the smashed snowball like a battle wound. "I shall annoy cosmic beings until they bring me back to life. I love you."

"Cas, no!" Dean said dramatically.

"Avenge me," Cas announced before going limp in Dean's arms. Dean wiped fake tears from his face and slowly looked u[p at Gabriel.

"YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS, YOU MONSTER!!!" He screamed, grabbing a snowball and hitting Gabe straight between the legs. Charlie and Sam gasped as Gabriel doubled over, wincing slightly.

"Hey!" Sam said, slightly mad. "Aim for the face, not the jewels!"

"HE SUNK MY SHIP!!!!" Charlie screeched before violently attacking Gabriel with snowballs with Dean.

Later, after Charlie and Sam passed out from too much hot chocolate, and Gabriel had been locked up in the dungeon until they could try him for the crime of killing Cas, Dean wandered the bunker, finally locating his angel at the window. Cas stared outside, admiring the snow.

"Hey," Dean grinned at him.

"Hello Dean," Cas replied, the phrase sending shivers up Dean's spine.

"I suppose we can check snow off the list."

"Yes we can...." Cas thought for a moment. "Hey Dean?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you remember when you asked me if it was possible for me to stand outside in the snow with just my underwear on and not be cold, and I said yes?"

"Of course." Dean grinned, and Cas turned to study hid expression.

".....You want to see me run around outside in my underwear, don't you?"

".....Maybe." Cas shrugged and slipped off his coat. Dean's eyes widened. "Wait, are you ACTUALLY going to-"

Cas didn't reply as he slipped out the bunker door. Dean glanced out the window and burst out laughing as he spotted a nearly naked Cas, chilling outside in the freezing cold.
