Chapter Six: Lionel's Big Mouth

“Mama,” Alejandro whined as Belina dropped him off at La Masia, it had taken some persuading from his mother before he had finally agreed to attend; the brunette just hoped that everything was going to be okay.

“It’ll be fine,” the brunette said as she dropped him off, he had been attending the Barcelona youth academy for about a week now and he still got nervous every time that he attended; Belina glanced around knowing that sooner or later she would run into Cesc.

“Okay… I’ll pick you up at six,” Belina said as she pressed a kiss to Alejandro’s head making him glare at her before he heard one of his new friends call for him; Belina smiled as she watched him hurry away as she leant back against her car for a moment.

Belina shook her head as she turned to get back into her car before she spotted an Audi R8 pulling into the car park; she paused for a moment as her heart leapt, knowing that there was a chance that it was Cesc.

The brunette shook her head knowing that she couldn’t hover around in case it was Cesc; she wasn’t ready to see him again even if she knew that he was interested in finding her now, Gerard had told her what he wanted and she wasn’t sure if she was ready to see her ex-boyfriend again.

Climbing back into her car, Belina watched curiously for a moment since she couldn’t bring herself to leave until she knew for sure; she chewed on her lip wondering how long it would be before she had to see Cesc face-to-face again.

“So do you know what’s going on with Gerard?” Cesc asked as he sat down next to Lionel as they watched the youth teamers train, he didn’t know what was going on but for the past month his best friend had been acting strange and he couldn’t figure out what was going on.

Lionel swallowed as he looked at Cesc, he wasn’t happy that Gerard was keeping the fact that he had found Belina a secret even if he understood why the spaniard was keeping this secret; the brunette deserved some piece after what Cesc had done to her.

“I have no idea,” Lionel lied as he looked over at Gerard who was sat a little away from them, he was watching Alejandro and had a smile on his face knowing that the little boy was talented; he hoped that the six year old could go far with his career like his father had.

Cesc raised an eyebrow at the argentine knowing that he was keeping something from him, he stared at him wondering what was going on as Lionel looked back at the pitch; his brown eyes focusing on Alejandro knowing that sooner or later Cesc would know the truth.

“Come on Leo… what’s going on? Even you’ve been weird this week,” Cesc said knowing that he didn’t need all of this right now especially as he was trying to track down Belina; he was having problems and he knew that he had to find her soon because he didn’t want to stay in this limbo anymore.

“It’s nothing Cesc… Gerard’s just been busy with Milan and Shakira,” Lionel said as he thought about the fact that Gerard had introduced his girlfriend to Belina; he knew that he wouldn’t be able to do the same until Cesc knew what was going on since Antonella was a close friend of Daniella.

The midfielder looked at him not believing what he had heard for a moment, he knew that there was something more going on and he wanted answers especially since his best friend was pushing him away.

“Leo… you know that you can’t lie,” Cesc said as he sipped on his drink, he didn’t know what was going on but he wanted answers and if he couldn’t get them from Gerard then he would get them from Lionel; he stared at the argentine knowing that he would break sooner or later.

Lionel nibbled on his lip as he tried to ignore the look that Cesc was giving him, he didn’t want to betray Belina since he was only just getting her back as his friend.

“Come on Leo,” Cesc said as he tried to get some answers, he glanced at the coach as he called an end to the training session; he rolled his eyes before he looked at Lionel; he had no idea why his two friends had come to the training session but he knew it was because of their secret.

“Gerard found Belina,” Lionel blurted out before he clapped a hand over his mouth, he glanced nervously at Cesc who had stiffened as he finally learnt what was going on.

Cesc’s brown eyes moved to Gerard, who hadn’t heard what Lionel had said as he moved to talk with one of the children; he couldn’t believe that his best friend hadn’t told him that he had found the brunette.

“She asked us not to tell you… Lina’s changed Cesc,” Lionel said as he looked at his friend, knowing that this was a shock for him; he just hoped that it wouldn’t cause them problems since he was aware how close Gerard and Cesc had been.

“She doesn’t want to see me?” Cesc said as he tried to wrap his head around what Lionel had said, he looked away from Gerard and turned his attention to the argentine, who nodded his head; he didn’t know what to make of what was being said.

“Not yet… I saw her last week and I think she’s just coming to terms with the fact that Gerard and I were back in her life,” Lionel said gently as he wondered what would happen when Cesc snapped; he looked up alarmed as Cesc pushed himself to his feet before he stormed towards Gerard who was talking to Alejandro.

Lionel hurried after him knowing that he should have kept his mouth shut, they didn’t need Cesc fighting with Gerard in the middle of the field.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Cesc snarled as he shoved the taller man, he glared at him knowing that this could have been sorted out and he would have answers sooner if Gerard had told him that he had found Belina.

“Leo told me that you found Lina… why didn’t you tell me?” Cesc demanded as he glared at his best friend, he felt betrayed even if deep down he knew that Gerard had done it for the right reasons.

Alejandro stepped away from the two men knowing that this wasn’t going to be pleasant, he eyed the man that was his father before Lionel rested a hand on his head knowing that this couldn’t be easy for him.

“Alex why don’t you go and find your madre,” Lionel said making the little boy nod his head before he hurried away leaving the three men alone; Gerard glanced at Lionel knowing that he had done the right thing in sending the boy away.

“I didn’t tell you because I wanted some time with her… after you dumped her, I didn’t want to lose her again,” Gerard said as he took a calming breath, he watched his friend wondering if he knew that the little boy had been with him was his son; he doubted that Lionel would tell him that.

Cesc took a deep breath as he stared at his best friend, he knew that the breakup had been tough on them all but he had never expected this.

“And my child?” Cesc asked as he looked at his friends, he wanted to know what he was going on and he was curious about what his child was like.

Lionel looked at Gerard who nodded his head knowing that there was no point in hiding this anymore; he deserved to know that Belina had given him a son.

“A son... Alejandro Fàbregas Gomez,” Lionel said making Cesc nod his head before he stopped as he realised that the little boy that Gerard had been with his son.
