    "Congrations, your baby is due this October!"

    The words ran through my mind repeatedly. I was pregnant. Tom and I had been together for a while and have talked about kids, but not this soon. Of course I was happy, but we had so much going on. I decided to be optimistic about this and figured out a way to tell Tom.

    Tom was currently out for a meeting, so I had some time to plan this out. I ran to Target and tried to find something to tell him. I found a pair of baby shoes and a calendar, I figured I could do something with this.

    When I got home, I took the calendar and circled the due date and wrote BABY HOLLAND. I placed the baby shoes and ultrasound picture around it and smiled at my work. Tom would be home any minute so I waited impatiently.

     I sat on the couch, holding my phone ready to record his reaction when I heard the door open. Tom walked in and saw me with my phone and gave me a confused look.

     "What are you doing?" He laughed and walked towards the kitchen.

     "Just look at the counter," I said and pressed the record button. My stomach flipped as he walked over. He looked down, starred for a moment and then turned around. He smiled and covered his face.

    "What!" He yelled and ran over to me. I laughed and stopped recording. He sat beside me and put his hands on my stomach. "There's a baby in there?"

    "Our baby," I smiled at him. His hands roamed my stomach as if he could actually feel something.

    "I love it already." He looked up at me and smiled wide. "I love you so much, I can't believe we're starting a family together."

    As he was talking, Tess walked into the room and walked over to us. Tom pulled her onto his lap and started petting her like crazy.

   "You're gonna be a big sister, Tess!"
