Auston's POV:

"Auston have you seen my clubs?" Breyana asked.

I snorted. "As if! Why do you always ask me first when I'm rarely here?"

She yelled back. "Because you are the only one that hides my things and blames Alex."

My mom laughed at the both of us before nodding her head upstairs to tell me to go help Breyana. I sighed and pulled myself off the couch. I had been in a funk every since I talked to Brynn. I felt bad but knew I had to say what was said. I got upstairs and went straight to my old room. I opened my closet and pulled of Breyana's golf clubs. I brought them into her room where she was frantically turning it upside down to try and find them.

"Looking for something?" I said with a small smirk.

She turned around and narrowed her eyes when she say what I was holding. "You're a real jerk. You know that?"

I smiled and handed them to her. I walked back into my room and threw myself onto my bed. I landed face first in the pillows. I groaned before I felt a dip in the bed.

"What's your deal? You're rarely home during the off-season and now you've been up our butts since the season ended. No offense but if Mitch comes over one more time I might kill him." She said while throwing herself across my back.

I grunted. "Brynn's in Scottsdale."

She shot up. "What? Why didn't you tell me? I haven't seen her since game six!"

I pushed my self up and watched my little sister walk around the room. She was looking through things and continuously whisper-yelling about how I should have told her. I smiled slightly. It was no wonder her and Brynn got along so well. They were practically the same person. She stopped walking around and started messing with something on my dresser. I didn't realize what it was until she stopped talking and turned around.

"Auston, what is this?" She held up the little box.

I jumped up from the bed and went to grab it from her hands before she shot away from me and jumped on top of my bed to stand on it.

"Breyana hand it over." I said sternly.

"Not until you tell me what it is." She said back just as sternly.

I jumped up on the bed and grabbed her arms but she was small enough for her to maneuver her way to where her back was facing me and her arms were outstretched away from me. I tried to reach around her to grab the box before she opened it but it was too late. She gasped and pushed me off before jumping off the bed earning a shout from our mother about how we will pay for her floor if we put a hole in it.

"Is-is this an engagement ring?" She asked with wide eyes.

I ripped it from her hands, closing the box and shoving it into my pocket. "Mind your own business Breyana."

She gasped. "It is an engagement ring. Are you dating someone Auston?"

I shook my head furiously. "No! Come on now, you know me better than anyone in our family."

She continued to try and wrap her head around the fact that she found an engagement ring in my room and I tried to come up with something quick before she put all the pieces together. "I was planning on proposing to Brynn before we broke up. I guess I never got around to returning the ring okay? Besides it's way past the 72 hour money back guarantee."

She scoffed. "Oh please! Remember I know you better than anyone in the family. I know when your lying. You would have had me help you plan something!"

Ouch. She got me there. I started to internally panic before she finally spoke up again. "Are you planning on proposing to her," She stoped herself before continuing. "on her wedding day?"

I looked down afraid to meet my younger siblings eyes. She gasped for what must have been the fiftieth time in ten minutes. "You are aren't you!?"

"Breyana keep your voice down." I shouted. She scoffed.

"How do you expect that to work out exactly big brother?" She said matter of factly.

I sighed, completely giving up on trying to defend myself to my sister. I sat down and put my head in my hands.

"I obviously don't have anything planned out. I'm just thinking in my head, maybe if I propose to her then she will realize just how much she means to me. Breyana I can't live with myself knowing I messed things up with Brynn. Do you know how hard it is watching another guy get to kiss her and love her. Watching another guy tell her that he will take care of her and Elle for the rest of their lives. That should be me Breyana. It should be me!" I breathed out as I let out a sob.

Breyana sat down next to me and wrapped her arms around my neck pulling my head into her chest. I wrapped my arms around my little sisters smaller frame and continued to cry.

"Oh Auston. As much as I disagree with what you are doing, I don't believe Brynn is going to go through with this wedding." she said to me softly.

I untangled myself from her and looked up at her through watery eyes. She gave me a small smile.

"You really believe that?" I said back.

She nodded. "Of course I do. Brynn loves you just as much as you love her. I may be young, but I can see it. I can see it in the way she looks at you Auston. She would be a fool to go through with the wedding. Maybe she's dragging it out because she's hoping you will give her a reason to call it off."

I sat up and wiped my eyes. I looked down at the ring in my hand before looking at my sister. "This is why your my favorite Breyana."

She smiled proudly and I rolled my eyes. "I mean obviously Auston."

She stood up and threw my golfing shorts at me. "Get dressed lazy bones. We're going golfing because if there's one thing I can definitely beat you at, it's golf."

I let out another groan. "Oh my god!"

I think i'm making this the last chapter for this book. I might leave you in suspense and anticipation until the next book comes out. Which will be before the wedding next month. I'm still not sure yet. But here's an update either way.🖤
