Inevitable Love (The other half of me)
It's not that easy to explain to your best friend why your cousin kissed you. Trust me it's not. I've explained it to Kellen multiple of times and he still wont get it.
And you want to know what I don't get? I don't get why the boys won't go get a door!!! We have no front door and I am not going to sleep when there's a .5 percent chance that we won't get robbed and a 99.5 chance that we would.
When Kellen left he seemed frustrated. Like he was trying to believe me, but he just couldn't. Caleb was sat on the ground shocked. He's been there since the incident.
"You know what? Since you guys are just going to sit there and do nothing while we have no front door, I'll go get one!" I said frustrated.
Caleb stood up. "I'll go with you," he said robotically. I would have stopped him, but he was already out the door- oh wait no there's no door. I'm sorry I meant he was already out the doorway.
I huffed and followed him out. When I got outside Caleb was already in the car. I opened the door to the passenger side and got it. He started the car and we were off.
"We can't have it to you by today, but tomorrow we'll have Jim deliver it to your house."
I groaned frustrated. "Is there anyway that we could get it today? I mean we have no front door."
"I'm sorry ma'am, but that is not possible."
Ugh. I took the slip and wrote the address, my name and phone number. Then exited the store pissed. Caleb followed still acting weird.
Okay, I know my cousin just kissed me. Woop Dee Doo! I know its pretty disgusting, but it happened and we can't go back in time and reverse that.
"Where are we going?" I asked Caleb as I noticed that he was going the opposite way towards our home. Caleb didn't answer. Why am I not shocked.
About twenty minutes of driving in silence Caleb parked the car. I looked around me and noticed that we were in some sort of abandoned beach thing. The weirdest thing though is that there was a playground right there in the middle. It wasn't close enough to touch the water, though.
"Come on." Caleb said in a low voice. I got out and followed him, to the swing sets. He leaned against one of the supports, and I sat on the swing.
He didn't speak or even attempt to. "What's wrong Cal?" I asked really concerned.
He looked at me closely, watching my every movement. Then he spoke, and what came out his mouth shocked me. "I'm adopted." He sighed, when he saw my shocked expression. "I'm not saying that it was a good excuse for kissing you, but before you think that I'm one of those disgusting bustards-"
I stood up and hugged him. He stiffened at first then hugged me back. "It's fine I'll never think that of you. It was a mistake. Plus no matter what happens I'll always love you like family."
"Yeah, see that's the thing." He cleared his throat. "I don't love you like family." I was confused then understood what he meant. I let go of him. "Axa I'm sorry."
I nodded. "You don't love me." I mumbled looking down at the ground.
"What! No of course I love you."
"But..." I looked up at him, my eyebrows up in confusion. "You just said that..."
He took a step towards me, and cupped my face in his hands. "Axa I love you, but not the same love a person should have for their own cousin."
"I don't-" He cut me off with his lips.
Seconds later he broke the kiss and started walking towards the water. I just stood there frozen in shock. This was too much. He loved me, but not in a cousinly way. He's not even my cousin! Well not in blood, anyway.
I sunk to the ground. Does mom know? Does Georgie know? Why didn't Mom tell me? Georgie's smart enough to figure out if Caleb was actually related to us.
"Why does these things always happen to me?" I said to myself after a long time of me thinking. I felt someone sit next to me. I know who it was without a doubt. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I just told you."
I turned towards him, and he had his famous smirk. I smiled softly back. "I meant before today."
He sighed. "Because I didn't want it to be weird."
I nodded. "So you thought after kissing me it would be a perfect time right?"
"Exactly." He said sarcastically. "I'm so glade that you agree." We laughed.
"So...?" Caleb started.
I looked at him confused. "So?"
"Can I kiss you?" He asked with a pleading smile.
"Caleb!" I scolded.
"What?" he whined.
"You can't go asking if you can kiss me."
"Oh, so I have to kiss you unexpectedly." He nodded his head as he spoke.
"No-" but I never got to finish because finish my sentence because Caleb's lips stopped me. He was kissing me and I found myself following.
When he broke the kiss he looked at me seriously. "I know that you may hate me when I tell you this, but I have to say it." He took a deep breath. "I told you that I love you, but Axa we can't be together."
"Let me finish. Axa your in love with Kellen. I know that you want to deny it, and say that he's your best friend and that you could never end up together, but it's not true."
"That's cause it's not true."
"Axa, you may not see it but I do. When you walk into a room, you should see how his facial expression changes, his mood suddenly brightens up. And then you, when you see him your eyes suddenly lights up, and your smile goes even brighter. I saw how much it hurt him when he saw us kissing, and I saw how you looked like your whole world ended when he left you standing there alone on the patio." He grabbed my face in both his hands. "Axa, listen to me. The guy is in love with you, and you may not love him, but your really close to it. Just try to fix things with him. I'll even speak to him for you. Just don't mess up, cause you only have one chance."
"Okay." I whispered.
