I walked to the reception and turned to the receptionist
"Is there a place where I can get ice cream?" I asked and she smiled
"First floor and second room by your left" she said and I walked away. I found it easily and entered before spotting Selene

Do I want to talk to her?

I went to the counter and ordered a tub of vanilla,hazel nut and banana.
"I want my own scooping spoon" I said and he handed it over to me.
"Where should I charge it to?" He asked and I smiled
"Charge it to the Lagos cathedral choristers" I said and carried the sugary goodness before taking a seat at the far back.

I can't believe Jay, I just can't. I scooped ice cream and ate it before sniffling

He always find a new way to hurt me, every time, every freaking time.

I ate another scoop and sniffled again

I don't want this kind of relationship where we have to be secretive.

I took so many scoops as the tears flowed down my cheeks and laughed

Typical. I looked at the empty tub before me and wiped my mouth

Its in a better place.

I couldn't help but stare at Selene whose posture was stiff and tense.

Let me just check up on her. I left the empty tub and scooping spoon on the table before making my way to Selene and smiling
"Hi" I said and she looked up before her features brightened
"Made, are you feeling better? You looked sick yesterday, hell your eyes are still red" she rambled on and I laughed
"Selene I'm perfectly fine"

Lies

"Can I stay with you?" She asked and looked at her table
"My dad jilted me for your chorister friend" she said and I sat down
"I'm so sorry Selene" I comforted her and she smiled although it looked like she wanted to cry.
"I don't want to call her mum" she sobbed and I hugged her
"You don't have to" I whispered and she held onto me tighter
"Dad likes her Made, I know he does" she sobbed and I sighed

Esther why are you causing so much problems

"Let's go somewhere" I said while wiping her tears and she looked up
"Where?"
"Anywhere" I said and pulled her up. I took in the melted sundaes and Selene's face ; the sight made my heart break.

I pulled her out of the parlor and towards my room making me to pause and think
I don't want her and Esther to meet.

"Do you have an idea where we can go?" I asked and her face lit up
"We can go to my room, it has a jacuzzi" she said and I already felt the warm water on my body with bubbles and champagne

"Jacuzzi is a go" I agreed and we did a high five. She led me through a series of stairs before we stopped in front of a room and she knocked.

No one answered and she sighed before looking inside the flower pot and bringing out a key
"Seems they all went out" we said and opened the door.

We entered and she looked it back before switching on the lights
"There are two jacuzzis in each bathroom so we'll be able to have a mini spa day" she chirped and opened the door
"Just like mom and I used to do"

Wow , she's sharing her memory of her mom with me

This is so wonderful.

She put on a relaxing music before we both did face masks and slid into the water bubbled jacuzzi
"This is the life" I sighed and Selene nodded in reply. I felt all my muscles relax and I got sleepy before snoozing into the unconscious realm

"Made" Selene shook me and I groaned before turning the other way
"Selene" she dragged and I ignored her.

Sleep is wonderful. I heard the door open and close before I sighed into the bubbled water

This is the life

I heard the door open again and my inner self groaned

Let the girls have some sleep ugh

"Dad she's not waking up!" Selene sobbed and I paused my mental laziness
"Made" Davis said and I was about to answer when I felt a hand under my knee and at my back
"Ah!" I yelled and held onto his shirt as he carried me bridal style

Naked!

Why can't people just let me sleep

"She okay!" Selene said in relief and squished her dad and I in a hug

Bad idea girlie

"Yeah I'm okay!" I said quickly feeling the heat rise up to my face, making Davis to smirk and Selene to laugh.
"Drop her dad" Selene said and Davis dropped me on a chair before tossing a towel to me

No!

I tried the towel around me quickly and cleared my throat awkwardly

Gosh this is so embarrassing.

"Dad check her pulse, she looks pale" Selene said and I opened my mouth in shock
"I'm fine! Totally fine" I said and Davis rolled his eyes before keeping two fingers on my wrist
He furrowed his eyebrows before touching my neck and staring at me
"Why don't you have a pulse?" He asked and I sighed
"I have one" I said and guided his hand to the pearl on my neck
"There" I said and he relaxed before giving me a look that said we were definitely talking about it later

Oh Davis, there won't be a later because I will avoid you like the plague.
