Hello everyone! Welcome back to the CUBE!! Jk, but seriously, welcome back! :D
So as far as chapters go whilst I'm on vacation, I'll have one up Tuesday (the day before I leave), and if I finish an extra chapter, I'll post that too. Also, if I have enough time, I may possibly try to write something on my phone (though that sucks, ew. Maybe I can get my aunt to let me use her computer quickly), though there's only like a 40% chance that that'll happen... oh well. Sorry guys, but I'll make sure I have a chapter ready to post the minute I return! :D
Remember to follow @code_cherry on Twitter and Instagram, and to vote and comment for more. Enjoy this long(er) chapter!
MADDIE (DUL)’S POV
I felt utterly sick.
This whole situation was incredibly stupid. Yes, someone had told everyone who we were, but I was completely certain that it wasn’t Elise. She never talked to anyone other than us and she’d kept the secret for months now. She had a boyfriend in Sean, a best friend in Jordan and I, and really good friends in the others. There was no reason that she would just throw it all away like that.
Which was why I’d had enough when Jordan basically threw her out.
“Oh my god, Jordan, I can’t believe you just did that,” I stated, crossing my arms as he turned away from the door, still seething.
“It had to be done. She’s guilty, and that’s that,” he replied, not looking at me.
“For God’s sake! She’s your best friend! Our best friend! Why on Earth would she even think about turning on you? I hope you guys realize how stupid you sound,” I shot back, letting my annoyance bubble to the surface. “She had Sean, a fantastic boyfriend! She had you and me, the best friends she goofed around with when she needed time away from the reality of it all! She had all of us! And we were all she had! Her only other friend lives miles away. Do you even comprehend what you’ve done? She’s alone, Jordan! She has next to no one now! I have officially lost half my respect for you for that move.” I finished my rant, panting slightly, glaring around the room and daring anyone to challenge my words.
Jordan looked slightly guilty, and Zach and everyone else just looked shocked, but Julio, of course, butted in. “Do you have a better explanation for why people know who we are now?”
I gave him a hard stare. “I don’t have an answer for you, Julio. Maybe someone was just smart enough to figure it out after all this time; I don’t know any more than you do! What I do know, however, is that there was no way it was Elise.” I turned to Sean. “Are you even going to stand up for your girlfriend?”
He stared at the ground sheepishly and didn’t say anything. I groaned in frustration.
“Fine. Believe what you want, see if I care. I’m going after her,” I announced, whirling around and storming past Jordan, who still appeared to be a mix between angry, guilty, and shocked.
I had managed an entire block from Jordan’s house and was trying to decide which way Elise would have gone when I heard someone call my name.
I glanced behind me quickly, before facing the front again. “What do you want, Liam?”
He caught up and stared down at me. “I’m going with you to find Elise, of course.” I must’ve given him a look that said something along the lines of ‘Really?’, because he added, “I stand by every word you said back there, Dul. And the others will too, you’ll see.”
I snorted. “If they can get past their ridiculous theory.” I turned in a full circle, wondering which way to go. “She could be anywhere.”
“Then we’ll look everywhere,” decided Liam, offering me his hand with a smile. “Shall we?”
