A large, gaping hole was evident in her stomach. Frayed intestines dangled from the hole, swinging back and forth with every step she took. The low growling echoed off the walls as she staggered completely in the room.

The shelf creaked under Arryn's weight, causing her mother's head to snap in her direction. A snarl escaped her lips as she opened her mouth. Black blood dripped down her chin.

I need to go now!

Arryn pulled herself up into the crawl space. The flimsy material felt like it could give way at any second as she placed the full pressure of her body weight into it. As soon as her feet left the shelf, a loud clattering noise sounded below.

Peeking through the gap between tiles, she saw her mother was pinned underneath the fallen shelf. The creature's hand was outstretched upwards, trying to grab at her.

I'm so sorry, Josie.

Cautiously, Arryn crawled through the dark, small space. Dust hung thickly in the air, making it almost impossible for Arryn not to sneeze. Each tile felt like it wanted to give way but miraculously held strong.

She had put a good distance between the entry point before she felt herself falling. Light flooded her vision as she came crashing down hard. She landed on the solid ground hard, knocking the wind out of her. She breathed in several loud breaths, trying to fill the air back in her lungs.

She felt a wet substance clinging to her left side. In between breaths, she saw that she had landed in pool of blood and flesh. Her stomach churned as she felt bile come up. She choked it back down as she saw her ticket to freedom.

The elevator was right in front of her.

Finding the strength to stand, she raced towards the elevator in front of her. She hit the button and watched the screen climb in numbers.
