"Shhhh, it's okay," Seulgi patted Rina's back. "This isn't your fault. And it's not Mark's either."
"But I really like him. It's all my fault. If I hadn't given into my feelings, things wouldn't have turned out like this."
Irene sat down in front of her, handing her a popsicle. "Here, eat this. It'll make you feel better. And don't blame yourself, honey. This really isn't your fault. Unfortunately, we can't control who we like and don't like. And Manager Kim used to be Red Velvet's manager before NCT debuted. I can talk to him, too. You're not alone in this. It's unfair that you're being punished for following your heart."
Yeri squeezed Rina's hand. "And you're so cute. How can Manager Kim fire you? We'll talk to him, don't worry."
Mark, on the other hand, returned to his dorm. His face was so sullen that the members couldn't have imagined what happened. And they realized Rina wasn't by his side. Henry had come over to congratulate the boys in person and play some video games while he was at it.
"Mark, are you alright?" Henry asked, and he burst into tears. He couldn't move forwards. His heart hurt too much to do anything. The members were confused, but they hugged him and made him sit on the sofa.
"Okay, take it slow. What happened?" Henry asked.
"I told Rina I liked her, and Manager Kim fired Rina because of me. I even kissed her." Mark covered his face with his hands. "And just like that, I took her dream away."
Ten widened his eyes. "Rina was fired? Where is she right now?"
"Red Velvet's dorm," Mark managed between sobs.
"This is not okay. I don't care if it's policy. We need to stand up for her," Taeyong decided. "Who's in?"
All the members nodded and cheered.
"Don't worry, Mark. We're going to get Rina back. The company will realize the mistake they're making," Henry winked. "I'll sleepover tonight, and we'll all go together tomorrow morning. You go up and get some sleep, Markie."
Mark didn't protest. The guys watched him trudge up the stairs with his slouched shoulders. He looked so sad.
"We have to make him smile again. How are we going to get Rina back?" Haechan asked.
"Henry smiled. I'm your secret weapon. It's simple. You all storm in there and tell Manager Kim you quit. I'll talk to Red Velvet. I'm sure they'll do the same. And if that doesn't work, I'll be the cherry on top. There's no way they'd let two of their amazing groups go. But it's even more unlikely they'd get rid of me."
"Why wouldn't they get rid of you?" Lucas asked.
Henry winked. "I write almost all the songs for our company. And I record demo tracks. And I have a lot of connections. It would be a really bad decision for them to let me go."
The boys smiled. Henry's plan was perfect. They could just go in there and tell Manager Kim, and things would be solved. Rina just had to wait a little bit for them to pull through.
Henry ran through what each member should say. It was the first time NCT was seeing him so serious.
"Henry, why are you putting so much effort into this? We have a plan. It should work," Yuta pointed out.
