I'm still working on my main Connor book, Marty McFly book, and other one shots. So please, be patient.
You walked down the street, laundry basket in hand. Sure it was late, but you were busy all day, and only now you had time to take a trip to the laundry mat downtown.
The rain really picked up from the time you were in there, washing the streets in downpour.
"Perfect," you muttered.
Without much warning, you almost bumped into an Android when turning the corner. She was scared, and had a little girl with her with the same expression.
"I'm sorry," She breathed out.
"Hey, are you two okay?" You said, immediately feeling sympathetic for the two.
"We-we have nowhere to go." The Android said, tears forming at her eyes.
"Why don't you come home with me, yeah? It's warm, and I have food for the girl." You smiled at her.
"Thank you," She smiled widely. "How can I ever repay you?"
"Just come with me, and once you get settled in, you can explain what happened to you," you said with a soft tone.
Once you reached your apartment, you let the Android and girl inside first, and let them settle in.
The girl was shivering from the cold rain, so you gave her a warm towel from you laundry basket.
"Here you go, sweetie." You smiled warmly.
"Thanks," she said with a shy tone.
You heart pinged, feeling empathy for these two. Even though the woman was an Android, she showed human emotions. She was scared. It was intriguing to you, making you want to help as much as possible.
"Is there anything else you need? Clothes, food...?" You asked.
"If you have some human clothes to spare, I'd really appreciate it." The Android said.
"Of course," you smiled. "If I may ask, what are your names?"
"I'm Kara, and this is Alice."
"It's very nice to meet you," you said with a warm smile.
Alice said nothing but smiled, as she snuggled up in the warm towel you gave her.
You picked through some old clothes, gathering a large coat and a dress Kara could wear. You didn't have clothes for Alice, unfortunately. But a stuffed animal sat on your shelf, so you snatched it for her to have.
"It's not much, but here," you said as you exited you room. You gave Kara the clothes, and made your way to Alice.
"Thank you. Your hospice is enough for us." She smiled, and sat down next to Alice, wrapping her arms around the freezing girl.
You kneeled down to Alice, with your hands behind your back. "You look bored," you grinned, "but I have something to change that," you said before revealing a stuffed bear to her.
Alice smiled widely, and took it, hugging the toy. "Thank you so much!"
"Thank you," Kara said, "but we still never got your name,"
"It's ____ ____."
"Thank you, ____."
After awhile, all three got tired. From running and just from staying up too late. Alice slept next to Kara, with her arm around the child, as your head laid on Kara's shoulder. Her head rested on yours, making the three look like a happy family.
By morning, Kara woke up first. As she stood up from the embraces, ___ woke up as well.
"Morning," you yawned.
"Good morning, ___." Kara smiled. "If I may ask, do you have scissors? I have to change my appearance."
"Of course, lemme help you."
You guided Kara to the bathroom, where she took a seat on the toilet lip. Once she was settled, you began to snip away at her hair.
It was short, but looked stunning on her. Her hair turned from brown to blonde, which was amazing to witness. It made her look even more beautiful.
"Kara, you hair looks amazing!" You gushed.
Her LED light turned yellow, before going back to its original blue.
She stood up, and looked into the mirror, and smiled widely.
"I love it," Kara said before pulling you into a tight embrace. "Thank you. So much." She whispered.
You wrapped your arms around her torso, sinking your head in the nape of her neck.
In the next room, Alice began to stir, as she yawned loudly. You and Kara walked out of the bathroom, hand in hand to greet her to the morning.
"Hi, Kara. Hi, ___." She said while rubbing her eyes.
You smiled, and waved. "Morning."
You phone beeped, so you went to check it, breaking the grip between you and Kara. The message was alerting you about a missing girl and an Android. Kara and Alice.
"Guys, the police are after you," you said with worry.
Kara looked sad, as she held Alice's hand. "We have to go."
"It's okay. Just be safe, you hear?" You said.
"Thank you, again, ___." Kara said with a smile.
"Anytime, Kara. I hope to see you again."
"One day," she spoke softly.
You nodded, and watched the two leave. Deep down, it hurt both ___ and Kara to sperate.
