Chapter 23

As Harry closes the car door behind me I look up at the restaurant, which sat across the road. I furrow my brows at the sudden realisation that it wasn't the same as last time we had a date. A date is far from what you would call it anyway. I turn to look back at Harry as he locks his car from the keys and walks over to me.

'New place?' I ask as he extends his elbow for me to lock with. When he is close enough I link my arm with his and we walk to the restaurant.

'I figured bad memories lingered at the other place,' He chuckles lightly but I didn't make a sound. I didn't look at him because I didn't want him to have that attention. 'Plus bad people too.' He chuckled again. I wasn't sure who he was talking about in particular but I figured it was the girl he went to the bathroom with. But as I think longer over it, it could have been Noah...

I continued to walk with him as he guides me across the road to the restaurant. 'Have you tried Mexican before?' I look up to Harry as his eyes scan mine searching for a reaction. He knew I didn't want to talk about our previous get together so I assumed he wanted to change the mood.

'Once. I vowed I'd never do it again, my body hated me after.' I giggle lightly. He smiles back a toothy smile and nods his head, looking forward watching where his feet step.

'That's true. Take it easy tonight.' I hear him chuckle slightly but I more focused on my surroundings.

I still couldn't believe that I was in a wonderland. I could only dream of walking the London grounds and breathing the fresh air. To some, this may have been an easy dream to accomplish, for me it was only a dream and I'm glad I worked towards it.

Once we walked across the road and made it to the restaurant, Harry was quick to find us a booth and we took our seats.

'When I tried Mexican last, there was one thing that blew my mind and that was a quesadilla.' I throw my handbag under the table and make myself comfy before Harry. 'It was the one thing that taught me life was worth it.'

'I'm a sucker for a good burrito with one taco. That pleases me enough for the night.' I hear him slightly growl at the thought of food and I laugh after him.

'Better than a woman?' I smirk and wiggle my brows at him watching his actions.

His face drops and his mouth left a still line between his lips. He chugs out a dry laugh, 'funny.' He shakes his head and chuckles.

'Sometimes I consider myself a comedian, I should just marry myself.' I playfully flip my hair over My shoulder, watching Harry's still expression on his face.

'Of course, love.' He plays along, shaking his head, chuckling slightly placing the napkin over his lap.

'I owe my life to her if I had to be honest.' Harry's head hung low as we walked around the suburb before we headed home. We were walking on the way back to the car and we had gotten into a deep conversation. I occasionally jerked my head to him and my surroundings and at this moment I saw the venerable Harry.

The date was perfect this time. He stayed seated, he respected me and it was all fun filled. My stomach was cramping from my laughter from his stupid jokes and I'm sure he felt the same way. I felt like we connected in a weird way and I surprisingly enjoyed it too much.

I wasn't the type of girl to venture on dates with plenty of men and this was technically my first real date, so I wasn't sure what to feel or make of this night. Audrey went on plenty dates, hooked up with one too many genders and she'd always mention how she felt in dates and it was nothing compared to what I felt tonight.
