Like Civilized People

Song: Walls by All Time Low

That was weird. Kellin came onto the bus, smiling at me, and then he left. What the actual fuck is up with that?

I jumped up from my place on the couch as soon as the camera was turned off. I bolted out the doors. I ran in the direction of Kellin and our tents. He was there and looked like he just got there too.

"Hey, how was the interview with the one and only Bryan Stars?" Blu asked me. She wiggled her eyebrows for affect.

I rolled my eyes. "Bryan Stars is cool. He asked some pretty funny questions. I've never been asked those kinds of questions before." I laughed.

They laughed alone too. They as in the rest of my band besides River, Trent, my manager Steve, Sleeping With Sirens, and Pierce The Veil.

"That's Bryan Stars for ya!" Vic added.

I nodded as I calmed down.

Blu stood up from her seat in a fold up chair and started walking back to the bus. As were the rest of my band. She gave me a look that said come back to the bus with me, I have something to tell you.

Trent and Steve gave me confused faces as I trudged on after my band mates. Trent and Steve continued doing whatever they were busy doing.

We got to our bus and only River was in there. We all sat on the couch together. River and I were giving the rest of the band some pretty confused looks.

"Summer, did you talk to your mom about you know who?" Blu asked.

I raised an eyebrow. "Uhh, yeah? Why?"

"Summer, I'm sorry! So very sorry! We should have told you sooner! I'm- OW!" Ian shouted as Blu punched his arm.

"We haven't said anything yet you idiot!" she hissed at him.

Zack shook his head. "Summer, when you were seventeen you-" I cut him off.

"I know. I knew Kellin. We dated and everything. My mom already told me that." I muttered, looking down at my feet.

"Wait, what?! Summer knew Kellin? When?" River asked.

Why doesn't River know anything about this? The rest of my band does!

"Summer and Kellin dated and then I guess broke up. She lost her memory of it when she was in the car crash." Zack explained.

"Why didn't you tell me?!" River almost shouted.

"You would tell her!" Ian defended.

"Duh! She has the right to know!" he protested.

"Why didn't you guys tell ME in the first place?!" I shouted at them.

"You're mom told us not too!" Zack shouted back at me.

Then I thought. Blu said she guesses that we broke up. "Guys, do you know how we broke up?"

They shook their heads. "Kellin will know for sure. Go talk to him!" Ian said.

I stood up to do as they told. "Wait! We kinda have something to tell you." Blu said, grabbing my wrist and restraining me from leaving the bus.

"What do you have to say?! I gotta go see him before he plays."

She exhaled. "We are so sorry. We didn't know that Kellin could be so important to you."

"Kellin isn't important to me," That was a lie. Honestly, there was something about him that I just couldn't help but… love. I just don't know what that is. "My past is important to me. No matter how many people tell me to forget about it I just can't!" I said quickly, trying to leave the bus again.

"Summer! Wait, please. Just listen. We all see it. Us, Pierce The Veil, Sleeping With Sirens besides Kellin, Alex and Jack from All Time Low, even Ronnie FREAKING Radke. We all see that this isn't just about your past. We want you to be happy. Don't talk to him just to know your past. Get to know Kellin now." Zack said, taking off his sunglasses.

I rolled my eyes. He is completely right. I think Kellin is just blind to see that this isn't just about my past. But this isn't about us getting together either! "Are you done yet?" I asked.

Blu, Ian, and Zack exchanged looks before getting up and hugging me. I heard them say that they were sorry and that they love me. I pulled away from them. "It's okay guys," I continued. "I forgive you. Plus if you told me sooner I wouldn't have had a clue who he was or I wouldn't have believed you. I gotta go right now and see him. I'll talk to you guys later."

I hopped off the bus and basically sprinted towards the tents, again. I feel like I do this a lot, when I really don't.

I arrived there and everyone was stilling chilling. I leaned against Steve at my tent. I was out of breath and bent over, my hands on my knees.

"Whoa! You okay?! Summer you look like you just ran a marathon." Steve laughed, helping me keep balance.

"I know. I had to be quick, to make sure that-" I stopped speaking. I looked over to see Pierce The Veil and Sleeping With Sirens looking right at me. I shook my head. "I. Hate. Running."

"Aww! You're so weak!" Trent teased.

I rolled my eyes at him and walked over to Sleeping With Sirens. Without saying a word I grabbed Kellin's wrist, dragging him away with me. I turned around only once to grab Jesse's arm and dragged him away too.

I pulled them back to their bus, still breathing heavily. No, I wasn't still tired from running, but dragging two grown men is hard work for me! I'm insanely weak! I can't even do one sit up. It's sad, I know.

I heard Jesse laughing as Kellin kept asking, "What the fuck?"

We finally got onto the bus and I let them go. "I need to talk to you guys, talk like civilized people." I said as I sat on the couch. I patted the spots next to me, motioning for them to sit.

They did so without hesitation. "What do you want to say?" Kellin asked. There was something different in his tone. It sounded like he actually cared about what I had to say. Maybe he did…

"Well first of all I just want to sorry to you guys. I was a bitch and even after saying I didn't know you guys I actually did. But I didn't know that. So again, I'm sorry. You are really the sweetest guys ever and you really didn't deserve the shit I gave you." I hung my head in shame.

Thinking over it I really was a bitch. I just can't stand it when shit like this happens! I hate God's plan for me. So far he has made me hated by SWS, caused me to get into a car wreck, and forget about the possible love of my life.

Wait, what?! No, he can't be.

That fact that Kellin hates me hurts even worse than all of that combined though.

"It's okay. You didn't know. We forgive you. And I'm sorry about annoying you with this." Jesse said calmly. He put his hand on my shoulder. I must look pretty fucking pathetic to have someone to put their hand on my shoulder! Oh God, I'm overreacting.

Jesse looked at Kellin and nodded. "I forgive you too. And I'm… sorry for being a dick. Jesse, could you give us a sec alone?" Kellin spoke, putting his arm around my shoulders as Jesse removed his hand.

I must remind you that I'm sitting in between two grown men with my head hanging.

Jesse stood up and started to walk out of the bus. I'm pretty sure that Jesse winked at Kellin before stepping out of the bus. I mentally threw up at that. Not because Kellin is gross or anything because he isn't. I mean, what does Jesse think we are going to do, fuck? Yeah right. In his dreams. In both of their dreams actually.

As far as I can remember I was never once alone with Kellin and now I am.

Kellin exhaled and removed his arm. "Summer, I was talking to Vic and he told me to forget about our past. He told me that WE should forget about it. We should just… become friends and leave this whole thing behind us." he blurted out.

"I can't." I muttered. "I guess I agree with you. That we should just forget, but I can't. This isn't even about you exactly Kellin. Just a couple weeks ago I found out about a past I didn't even know I had. I can't just forget that."

"Then what do you want?" he asked as nicely as possible.

"I want to know everything. I want to know why we broke up and why I left." I looked him dead in the eyes.

He smiled. "Okay. But after I tell you we should at least try to forget. Got it?"

I nodded vigorously. "Got it. So, speak up."

He sighed and started his story. "The night we broke up, it started out with me, you, Justin, and Jessica walking to a party..."
