Love vs. Lust
"Don't you have a house you can go to!?" I spat feeling irritated and frustrated. Why did he always have to be at my house?
"Of course I do, I just prefer being here. There's nothing better than constantly being reminded about how much you are hated" Cole replied smirking at me.
"Whatever, I'm way too tired to be arguing with you right now" I said turning my back on him and heading upstairs to my room.
I changed into pajama shorts and a tank top and got into bed. I fell asleep immediately and was thankful for a dreamless sleep when I woke up the next morning. I felt happy and cheerful as I got out of my bed stretching my arms. I took a quick shower and changed into a pair of pink shorts, a white tank top and white flats. I pulled my hair up into a ponytail, added some lip gloss and headed downstairs to face a beautiful sunny day.
The house was silent and I was thankful for that because I really didn't want my good mood to be spoiled by my noisy brother and his obnoxious best friend. I had some cereal for breakfast before fetching a blacked and my book from my room and going outside into our back yard. Our yard wasn't extremely big but it was beautiful. We had a big oak tree that was surrounded by wild flowers and a pond with a little waterfall in the corner. It has looked like this since I can remember and I've always enjoyed laying down in the shadow of the tree next to the pond. It was peaceful and I could forget all of my problems for a while.
I was lying reading my book when I heard my brother and Cole opening the back door and coming outside. I cringed at the thought but told myself that I wasn't going to let Cole ruin my day. I was simply going to ignore him and with any luck he would leave me alone as well.
I could hear them joking and laughing and was about to think that my plan to ignore them had worked when I felt my body being soaked with water. I let out an ear piercing scream as I jumped to my feet and faced them. I had my soaking wet book in my hands and threw it straight at Cole. It hit him in the chest and he accidently sprayed my brother with the hose he was holding. I wish it would have it him on the nose instead so that it could have caused him some pain.
Conner looked irritated as he grabbed the hose from Cole but then burst out laughing as he turned it on Cole and soaked him with water. I could feel my body tensing up and as much as I wanted to be in a good mood I just couldn't shake my anger. Cole was in the process of trying to grab the hose from my brother when I stormed at him and pushed him as hard as I could.
He fell backwards and landed on his but in a puddle of mud. He looked up at me smiling his evil smile. I thought he would be angry and shout at me but I didn't expect him to do what he did next. He grabbed a hold of my legs and pulled my down into the mud next to him. I pulled my arm back and was about to slap him but he was way too fast for me. He grabbed my wrist and pushed me back so that I was completely covered with mud.
I stared at him in shock and disbelief as he got up and shoulder punched my brother who was laughing at me.
"You're evil!" I yelled at Cole as I stumbled to my feet almost falling down again.
"And you are cute when you're angry" He replied sarcastically making me even more angry.
"Go home Cole, you're not wanted here" I said trying to act strong but all the while fighting the tears that were threatening to escape. I pushed pass them and stormed inside where they wouldn't be able to see my tears.
