Just One Kiss? For Good Luck? Full title.

Tony swore, he swore that his feelings had gone. He hung out with Pepper, stayed with Steve, hoping America's Golden Boy would keep him occupied, but Peter kept showing up in his lab, in the TV room, wherever Tony was, making it harder for the man to believe what he was telling himself.

"I'm not in love with Peter," he said aloud one day in his lab, hands clutching the tools he was working with. "I am not! I can't be. He's 17, I'm 48. My feelings are not-they don't. I can't."

"Sir, your heart rate is rising. You need to breathe," FRIDAY's automated voice resonated from the ceiling. Tony sat down in his chair, eyes blank. "Sir, really. Go get some fresh air. It will help calm you down."

Tony waved the AI off and rubbed his eyes, dropping the items in his hands. If only he could find a way to ignore the kid. That would make things so much easier.

"Mr. Stark! Mr. Stark! Guess what I did!"

Speak of the devil. Tony turned around, his heart skipping a beat. Peter ran to him, and stopped about an arms length from Tony. He took a step back, Tony was way too close to Peter's rich brown eyes. And he could smell the cologne the boy was wearing, although he didn't do a very good job of hiding it. Peter's cheeks were flushed, and he was breathing heavily from excitement. His hair was askew and his eyes were alit. Tony took another step back, keeping at a safe distance, his heart pounding out of his chest.

"Mr. Stark! I added some improvements to my webs! Now, the web stays intact longer than usual before dissolving. Look!" Peter flicked his wrist towards a nearby wall and some white string shot towards the surface at a quick pace. "It should stay for about three and a half hours if my calculations are correct. Are-are you," the boy faltered. "Mr. Stark? Are you okay?"

Tony blinked, and shook his head. "Yes-yes I'm fine. Just haven't gotten much sleep lately. I've been working on a new suit design. And those webs. Those are super cool. Now, if you want some tips, change the web shooters so you have a better accuracy when firing them. The longer durability is a nice touch, just make sure you've got the set up with Karen so she can quickly change to the webs you need."

"That's awesome. Thanks Mr. Stark. I'll see you around!" Peter nodded before turning that leave the room, shutting the door behind him.

Tony stumbled backwards into his chair, and sat down slowly. He ran a hand through his hair, tugging at the loose strands to pull them back into place. "FRIDAY, I need a drink. Whiskey preferably."

The AI didn't respond, but a bottle of strong whiskey was placed on his work desk, along with a clear flask. Tony poured liquid to the brim and downed in it one gulp. Then repeated the same gesture until the bottle was empty and so was his mind. Only then did he feel okay enough to leave his workspace and venture into the kitchen where everyone, everyone being the Avengers plus Peter, Loki, Wade and Bucky.

Wade was sitting in a corner, eating a chimichanga and observing everyone else quietly. Peter was fiddling with his web shooters and laughing at some joke that Thor had just told, even Loki managed to crack a smile. Steve and Bucky say at the far end of the bar, heads together, but they were both close to giggles, and Steve was genuinely smiling. Tony had never seen anyone get such a true reaction out of the Captain except for Bucky.

Natasha and Clint were pressed so close together Tony couldn't tell where one assassin started and the other ended. And Bruce was just leaning against one of the counters, watching everyone and laughing at some points, but he never joined in the conversation. Tony took that as a safe spot to stay and he removed himself from the shadows towards the shy scientist.
