Cause all the pain and the truth

I wear like a battle wound

So ashamed so confused, I'm not broken, or bruised

Now I'm a warrior

Now I've got thicker skin

I'm a warrior

I'm stronger than I've ever been

And my armor, is made of steel, you can't get in

Im a warrior

And you can never hurt me again.

I take a sip of my coffee, with my eyes glued to my laptop screen. I finish the second paragraph of my English essay before gulping down the rest of the liquid in the cup and starting the next paragraph. I hear footsteps approaching the kitchen but when I hear Shane's voice, I don't bother to look up from the screen.

",–oh come on Zach. She already feel uncomfortable around me but if you come, she'll feel better. Hey Kaylee," Shane smiles and sits on the stool beside me, while Zach walks to the fridge and grabs a bottle of water before looking back at Shane.

"Firstly, why is she going out with you if she doesn't feel comfortable around you. Secondly, she'll be even more uncomfortable with two guys on the date and thirdly...no!" Zach says before taking a big gulp of his water and rubbing his temples after.

I raise my eyebrow at him and when he glares back, I smirk. His eyes widen just a bit when he sees my amused expression. He shakes his head before glancing back at Shane who is pouting.

"First of all, she likes me, she just doesn't know it yet. Second, you'll be bringing a date and third...yes!" Shane points at Zach before turning his head and looking at me. I watch as his whole face changes and his eyes first from me to Zach and he claps his hands once. "Bring Kaylee."

I look at him and at Zach before closing my laptop. "Bring Kaylee where?" I ask.

"Double date. Me, Lola and you and Zach." Shane smile hopefully. I look at Zach who is leaning on the fridge with his eyes closed. His rubbing at his temple and groaning softly.

"Okay," I look at Shane before getting up and walking to the sink to rinse my cup.

"What?" I hear Zach's surprised voice. I turn of the faucet and turn to look at him. He's standing facing me now, his eyes wide with surprise and confusion.

"I said yes, to the date." I tell him with a shrug. He looks at me with a weird expression as I prepare some breakfast for Scott. When I'm done, I walk out of the kitchen and towards Scott's bedroom. He's already awake when I reach his crib, he looks at me and points.

"Good morning, little one." I grab him and place him on my hip. He rubs his eyes before yawning and then leaning his head on my shoulder. When we walk into the kitchen, I place him on the stool and push the tray closer to him.

"Morning bud," Shane says while Zach walks over to Scott and kisses his head. I sit down beside Scott and help him eat with his spoon. While Scott eats his breakfast, Zach and Shane argues about tonight. When Zach sits down with a loud groan, I get up and walk over to the medicine cabinet before grabbing a glass and filling it with water. I hand the glass of water and the ibuprofen to Zach.

"Thanks." His voice is huskier than normal. He grabs the glass and the pill from me and pops it in his mouth. Wrote gulping down the water.

"Your parents can babysit tonight." Shane's voice cuts through and I look at him. "So tonight, 7 o'clock at Maroi's." Shane says and hops down the stool. "I'll see you guys tonight." He points at me and Zach, staring at Zach for a longer moment before looking at Scott. "Bye Scotty."

"Do you have classes today?" Zach asks after the front door closes and Shane is gone.

"Not today, do you?" I ask and hand Scott a strawberry.

"Yeah, but they start at twelve." Zach says and then takes a bite of his apple. He doesn't look to be in as much pain anymore. His eyebrows are not furrowed as they were when he first stepped foot in the kitchen and he's not rubbing at his temples anymore. I knew he didn't want to talk about last night or about the scene at Jenna and Patrick's house and I wouldn't bring it up even though I really wanted to.

"Duwwne!" Scott's voice cuts through my thoughts and I look at him. His arms are raised and he's looking at me with his wide eyes. I chuckle at him and grab him when Zach come to stand by my side.

"Let me," He says and grabs Scott. He places the little boy on his shoulders and walks out of the kitchen. I clean off the counter and wash the dishes before I hear giggling coming from the bathroom. I dry my hands with a towel and walk to the bathroom. Both Zach and Scott are in the bathtub, sitting opposite each other and blowing bubbles everywhere. I chuckle at the scene in front of me and walk inside. I grab Scott's pajamas and Zach's T-shirt and sweatpants from the floor and place them on the counter.
Scott is the first one to notice me and he points at me while giggling. I smile at him then I turn my eyes to Zach who's chuckling at Scott before his amused eyes comes to me. Half his face is covered in foam and so is his head and Scott doesn't look much different.

They play around for a moment before it is time to get out of the tub. Zach grabs Scott from under his arms and hold out the little boy to me. I wrap him in the towel I'm holding and dry him off. My eyes shift over to a wet Zach and on its own accord, my eyes run down his body, he was wearing a pair of—now wet—black Calvin Klein boxers and they were clinging on to his body. I advert my eyes from his lower region when I hear him clear his throat and I feel my cheeks warming. I get back to drying Scott and when he's dry, I grab the fresh and new clothes and put them on him, before he wriggles out of my grip and sprints out from the bathroom. Suddenly, I hear a loud 'thump' and I turn around. I throw my head back and laugh when I see Zach, sitting on the ground with a dumbfounded expression.

"You think this is funny?" He glares at me before his eyes shine mischievously. I don't have time to back away before I feel his hand around my ankle and he pulls me so I fall on top of him. He lets out a laugh as his arms goes around my waist. My eyes move over his face and he stops laughing and stares back at me. Our eyes stays connected with each other's before his drifts down to my lips for a brief moment. Then, he flips us over, making me lay under him. He chuckles at my shocked expression before leaning down and kissing the tip of my nose. He stands up and leaves the room, but not before looking over his shoulder and giving me a dimpled smile.
