Chapter 24
Manila

"What?!" I sternly asked in disbelief.

I wanna know what's going on his mind right now. I guess I let him down again, but I'm going to bring him up again.

"What are you talking about?" hindi ko maiwasan ang pagtaas ng aking boses. "I'm still married? There must be a mistake!"

I just can't believe it! It's been five years. I should've heard something from Ashley about this if it's true pero wala naman.

You're married with..." she trailed and looked at the screen before raising her gaze at me again. "Mr. Sean Jacob Sarmiento."

I thought I can completely run away from everything that I left behind ngunit mukhang kailangan ko pang balikan ang mga sakit na natamo ko noon.

I can't help but to feel guilty. I know how force his smile is right now, but I don't know how to make it genuine.

"Can you refresh it again, Miss? Is it really my fiancée's record?" umaasa pa rin siyang nagkakamali lang ang babae.

The girl deeply sighed like she doesn't what to do just to make us believe. "Mrs. Cassandra Phiel Talavera Sarmiento. Siya po 'yon diba?"

I almost shivered when I heard her say my whole name with Sean's surname.

"Sir, I'm sorry but your fiancée's still married." she repeated. "You two can't process a marriage license unless they're annulled which is a long process at napakamahal din po nang magagastos."

I already lost million because of the annulment papers that I processed and signed five years ago pero wala naman iyong silbi.

They say that all things happen for a reason.

"I already processed and signed an annulment papers five years ago. I asked my lawyer to send those papers to my ex-husband." may diin kong sabi. "It's impossible that I'm still married when I should be annulled by now."

"There are three possible reasons, Ma'am." she said and I suddenly became more attentive.
