I was jamming out to my jams happily walking out of this miserable school when I bumped into someone making me drop my boba tea. "What the hell dude! watch where you're going," just as I was about to look up at who the culprit was but was almost cut off when I tripped on one of the bobas on the heel of my boot.
Ready to face the floor suddenly the persons arms caught me mid air.
My eyes widened when I look up to see the face of Cole. "I'm so sorry Raven, let me help you clean up."
"Well isn't this just cliché," I muttered under my breath realizing he heard when I heard a soft chuckle. "Aren't you just just charming as ever."
"I've been meaning to talk to you for a while but I don't think I've ever seen you since middle school."
"Never really liked to socialize with these teens, once I leave this town its not like I'll ever see them again." I started.
"Anyway, what did you want to tell me?"
"It was really nice catching up with you at the pool, and I just wanted to know if we could do it again. I havent seen you in years, just want to know how you've been."
"I'm kinda b-free the whole week." I was about to turn him down when I realized I needed a distraction from Alex, since thats obviously never going to happen, and he seemed really nice and I just missed him.
He smiled, not the fuckboy or cocky usual I receive from others. "Cool. I'll give you my numb-"
"No need, already have it."

It was two days later and I was currently getting ready to go to a carnival in an hour as a date since Cole texted me.
I found myself nervous since this was the first time Ive ever been asked out. I put on ripped jeans, converse, and a gray hoodie without sleeves. I found myself worried about my looks for the first time in well, forever.
"Where are you going?"
Alex asked me when I went down the stairs. "A carnival." "Do you need a ride?" He offered. "No thanks, I'm walking."
We decided to walk there since it was only 1 block away. My phone buzzed signaling Cole was waiting outside. "I'll be back late, bye." I haven't been to a carnival in 2 years.
I used to go every week, when there was a new one in town. That used to be where me and Cole used to meet up secretly, and he remembered.
"Hey," I said getting his attention. His face lit up with a smile when he saw me. "Hey, you look nice." "Thanks." We walked and talked, discussing our favorite bands.
Finally we reached there. There was games, food stands, rides, and balloons everywhere. "So what do you want to do first?"
"The freaking rides!" I exclaimed excitingly. "I knew you would say that." We started off with the smaller rides like bumper cars, to the bigger rides, even though there wasn't many since the carnival was mostly filled with game stands.
"You were definitely about to cry on that last one." "Was not,"he argued back clearly denying it.
"Was too." I poked his nose. "Okay maybe a little," He scratched the back of his neck when he finally admitted it.
"Ha!" Next we moved on to the carnival games. "You're trash," His aim was so off and I beat him at every game. "Don't mean to boost your ego,"I laughed at his poor sport attitude.
"If it makes you feel better you do now have a stuffed bear that I won you," the roles were switched. "Yah, Yah, I get it you're much better at every single game in this carnival than me."
We stayed there till midnight and then decided to walk home now. "Thanks for taking me to the carnival, It was fun."
"We should do this more often," he said. "Slick, I see you Cole, I see you." He chuckled at my confrontation. "Goodnight Raven," he kissed my cheek keeping me off guard and with that walked away off to his house. God, I hate when guys do that off guard and then walk away leaving us flustered.
And that was the end of the night. I took the key from under one of the lights, and called it a night as it was currently 2 in the morning.
