I sat in potions class barely paying attention to the words leaving Snapes mouth. My eyes were fluttering shut when I felt someone tap me. I looked behind me to see it was Jonah Marais a 6th year Slytherin. I remembered him and his little group of friends since they were constantly getting into trouble. Of course not all of them were bad it was mainly him. The one Slytherin in the group. It also consisted of Corbyn Besson a Ravenclaw, a Gryffindor named Jack Avery and shockingly a fellow Hufflepuff named Daniel Seavey. I had bumped into him a couple times in the common room he was nice and pretty funny. I sighed coming back to reality as he handed me a note. I waited for him to tell me who to pass it to but he didn't he smiled at me and looked straight up at Snape again. I looked at him confused before opening the paper. 'Meet me at the black lake after class -Jonah' his messy hand writing read I looked around making sure it wasn't meant for someone else before the paper was lifted away from my hands. I watched as it floated towards the front of the class panic taking over my face. "Is this why you haven't been paying attention to the lesson Ms. Y/l/n. Detention after class and 5 points from Hufflepuff" "Wait profesor it's my fault" I heard Jonah's voice from behind me. "I wrote her that note" "Stop trying to cover for her Mr. Marais. Now sit. Her behavior will not be tolerated" I sighed putting my head down knowing he probably made it worse.
——Time Skip——
I cleaned the last test tube before placing it back in its slot. "I'm done professor" I said standing in front of Snape afraid of his response. "Very well you may go Ms. Y/l/n and let this be a lesson to you next time I catch you making notes during class I will make you do far more than just clean the test tubes" He said in a menacing tone. I only nodded before heading towards the door. "There you are what took you so long" I heard someone say scaring me. I looked behind me to see Jonah standing there leaning against the wall. "Well I'm sorry I wouldn't have been in there if it weren't for you" I said turning on my heels starting to walk down the empty corridor towards the great hall. "Yeah about that I'm sorry I didn't mean for you to get detention" "Yeah whatever" I said rolling my eyes. I may be a Hufflepuff but I do have my mood swings. "Hey you don't have to be so mad about it" "I'm not mad Jonah just tell me what do you want so you could leave me alone" "I need your help" "My help?" "Yeah with transfiguration. Daniel told me your passing that class with high marks. Unfortunately I'm not and I need your help with studying" "And what makes you think I would help you. Plus Corbyns your friend and from what I've heard he's just about the same level as I am in that class" "Yeah but he's been to worried about our upcoming exams and is studying non stop if I ask him for help he'll just blow me off like the last three times I asked. And as for your first question well I know you'll help me because I can help you" "And exactly how the can the famous Jonah Marais help me" I replied sarcastically. "Well it just so happens a little birdy told me you've been having trouble sleeping at night. If I can help you sleep at night will you please help me" "I didn't even know you knew what the word please meant" I remarked before I looked at him to see him frowning at me. "Okay sorry" I said as we reached the entrance of the great hall. "So what do you say? Help me and I'll help you?" He said in questioning voice. "Fine" I sighed realizing it was worth a shot if I got to sleep through full night again. "Great we can start tomorrow. I'll send an owl to your dorm at what time is good to study" "Yeah yeah. I'll see you later Jonah" I said watching him walk in. I waited a couple minutes before walking to not look suspicious. I made my way towards my group of friends smiling at them. "There you are we were just about to go look for you" My friend Zach smiled at me removing my sweater hanging off my shoulders. "Thanks I was just finishing up detention with Snape" "Oh. Well Luna and Ginny thought it would be a good idea if we went to visit Hargrid after we finish our work" "That sounds like a good idea to me" I said looking up to make eye contact with Jonah who was already looking at me. "Cool" Zach smiled pulling out a piece parchment and a quill.
——Next Day——-
I walked out of profesor Trenlawleys class afraid as ever after the horrific story she told about her cat being eaten by a werewolf. "Boo" Someone said startling me from behind causing me to drop my books. "What the hell Jonah" I said under my breath bending down to pick up my books. "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you" he laughed helping me with my books. "Yeah yeah you really seem to pop up from nowhere don't you" I said taking my last book left from his hand. "Well yeah but that's be-" he was quickly cut off by someone shouting my name. "Y/N!" Ginny screamed running down the now empty corridor towards us. I looked at Jonah in panic before pushing him behind a pillar making sure she didn't see him. "What's wrong Ginny?" "It's Z-Zach we were in the f-forbidden f-forest and we ran into a weird looking creature and now he's in the hospital wing" she panted. I looked behind her to see Jonah still hiding behind the pillar. "Go" he mouthed to me I only gave him a quick nod before running off with Ginny.
—Time Skip—
I sat in the Hufflepuff common room reading my muggle book I had brought from home when I felt a presence sit next to me. "Hey y/n" "Oh Hey Daniel" I said shutting my book. "Um Jonah told me to give you this" He whispered handing me a piece a parchment. "Oh thank you" I smiled. "Your welcome. How's Zach by the way I heard he's in the hospital wing" "He's good just a sprained ankle nothing madam pomfrey couldn't fix he's just recovering now" "Oh that's good. Well I've got to go meet Corbyn. I'll see you later" "Okay um just a question" I said watching him stand. "What's up?" ""What are you meeting Corbyn for?" "We're gonna go play some one on one quidditch" "Oh okay well I'll see you later Daniel" I smiled watching him walk out of the common room. "Strange" I muttered since Jonah told me he was studying non stop. I snapped back to reality opening the small parchment in my hands.

I snickered at his last sentence wondering why I would need to bring my owl. I thought it best not to question it. I made my way upstairs to my room to see my friend Susan sitting on her bed petting her cat. "Hello" she mumbled under her breath. "Hey" I smiled lightly grabbing a small pouch inside my draw from my bedside table. "What's up with you and Jonah Marais?" "What do you mean?" "C'mon y/n it's pretty obvious there's something going on. He passed you a note the yesterday during class and now your roaming the halls with him" I thought about it for a moment before going to sit next to her on her bed.
I explained everything to her not leaving out a detail knowing she could come to use in my escape plan. She just looked at me satisfied. "But you can't tell anyone" I said standing and placing some dead mice into the bewitched extended pouch for Halsey. "So your really gonna go through with it?" "Of course. You out of everyone should know how long it's been since I've gotten a full nights rest. I figured Jonah might be able to help maybe with a potion or something" I said packing a small pocket watch. "Oh I'm sure Jonah will help with that" she winked at me. "Nothing like that's gonna happen I don't even find him attractive" "That's what you say now" she said smirking at me. I rolled my eyes before throwing a pillow at her. "Oh hush besides you've never heard of a Slytherin and Hufflepuff being together now have you?" "Well maybe you and Jonah might be the first"

I sat on my bed nervously. "Um I think I'm gonna go downstairs and read a bit" I said standing up putting my shoes on. I looked at Susan making sure she got the signal. She subtlety gave me a head nod. The plan was in motion. I made my way downstairs scanning the room for who was left. Hannah Abbot, Daniel Seavey and Zach Herron. Zach Herron? I made eye contact with Daniel giving him a worried look. Once Zach saw me he immediately made his way towards me. "Hey y/n what are you doing down here your usually in bed by now" "What are you doing back so soon I though you were still in the hospital wing?" I answered with a question. "I was released this afternoon. Did Luna not tell you?" "No she didn't" "Hey guys" "Oh hi Daniel what's up" "Um Zach Hannah said she really wanted to talk to you" he signalled towards the girl on the couch reading. Zach simply nodded walking toward her. "Good luck" Daniel whispered to me before I made my way out of the common room. I nodded thankfully at him before he rushed off upstairs as well both of us knowing well enough Hannah and Zach have never talked once. I looked around before making my way down the halls to the dungeons. Surely enough Jonah Marais was leaning against the walls just outside the Slytherin common room. Where's your owl?" He asked signalling to a gold cage that held his black barn owl. As if on cue Halsey flew towards us. I extended my arm out for her to land before turning and smiling at him. He only rolled his eyes opening his cage for his owl to come out as well. "C'mon" he said taking my free hand. He pulled me down the hall before we stood in front of a door. "What's is this place" I whispered "the room of requirements" He said as the door opened for us. "What are we doing here?" "In case you forgot you promised me a study session in return for some sleep" "I knew that" I mumbled glaring at him and his new found attitude.
——Time Skip——
"I think that's enough studying for tonight" I said turning Jonah's owl back to its form from a quill with wings. "Yeah it's pretty late" Jonah nodded yawning. I stood up from the ground dusting myself off. "Your really not tired" he said probably noticing my wide awake state. "Not really I could play a game of quidditch right now" I said giggling. "But your not gonna cause like I said before we had a deal. Now I'm gonna get you to sleep missy" he said ruffling my hair. "Missy?" "It's what I call Esther" He said referring to his younger sister who was in Ravenclaw. "Right" I said checking my pocket watch 1:00 am . I followed him out of the room of requirements. "Where to now?" I asked giving Halsey a dead mouse I had packed. I also gave one to Jonah's owl Neptune. "Just follow me" He said walking down the hall. I followed him keeping look behind us in case anyone was up. We walked for a couple minutes till we reached a familiar building. "The astronomy tower?" I said giving my owl one more mouse before I sent her back to my room where Susan should have left the window open for her. He didn't answer though. I watched as he sent his owl away as well before he pulled out his wand not saying a word. Within seconds he had a broomstick in his hands. He mounted himself onto it the moonlight bouncing off his face. His features undeniably attractive. "Well are you coming or you gonna stare at me all night" he said extending his hand out for me to take. I only took it knowing I wouldn't be able to form words. The blood rushing to my cheeks as I grabbed onto his waist. He pushed us off the ground taking us to the top of the tower. "What are we doing up here?" I asked getting off the broom. "I come here when I can't sleep" he said taking a seat. I quickly sat down next to him looking up at the beautiful night sky. "It's beautiful" I mumbled yawning. "Yeah you are- It it is the sky is" he said quickly. I glanced at him smiling up at the twinkling lights. "So what now?" I asked looking at him. "Now we stargaze till your tired" "And how do you know I'm gonna get tired" "Because these stars always make me tired" "There's a huge difference between us Jonah for starters your a Slytherin and I'm a Hufflepuff" "A very annoying one now will you please trust me and stargaze with me" "Fine But I won't like it" I said laying back. We stayed up talking for a while about anything and everything before I began to get tired for once ending the night with my eyes fluttering shut.
