"Y/N!"
"Oh, god." I muttered under my breath, shaking my head as I turned around. Putting the dirty rag away, I crossed my arms as the guys got closer to the counter.
"Hey!" Austin nearly fell as he got closer, catching himself with the counter.
I quirked my eyebrow, looking quickly at the closest person for an answer to my unasked question. Zion pointed at himself, since he was the one closest to me, silently asking if it was him I was staring at. When I nodded, he shrugged and said, "Steve told us of you taking days off to work at some diner. We remembered you telling us this was your favorite diner..."
Nick continued. "We put the two together, and decided to stop by; see what's so great about this place." He smiled.
"Also, wanted to see how you were." Edwin added, his adorable smile on his lips.
I sighed, grabbing some menus from under the counter. Leading them to a booth, knowing they'll cram in there to fit. "I'm fine. Great, actually. I never thought managing a diner would be the one thing to fill an empty space in my life." I set their menus in front of each of them, chuckling when they did in fact make themselves fit there.
"That's cool. Business good?" Edwin asked while the others looked at the menu.
"Ehh." I shrugged, pulling out a pen and a notepad. "Some days, at certain times." I told him.
"Stressful?" Brandon asked, pushing his glasses up.
Just when I was about to answer, a loud shatter rang throughout the diner, drawing everyone's attention. Pinching the bridge of my nose, I sighed and shook my head. "At times, yes." I answered, before I turned to the red face boy. "Shawn, again, really?"
"It slipped. I'm sorry." The boy frowned, setting down the plates he had in his hand. "I'll clean it up." He mumbled, already moving to get the broom.
"We're gonna have to get plastic cups." I muttered, looking back at the guys that were staring at me. Shaking my head, I sucked in a deep breath and asked, "So, what would you guys like?"
"First," Nick cut in, causing me to raise my eyebrow. "We have our first ever gig. At a bar that Steve took us to. It's chill, they even have karaoke." He smiled.
"We wanted to invite you." Austin nodded.
"Bring your friends." Edwin said, which led me to hum. "You do have friends, other than us, right?"
I scoffed. "Yes. I do." They chuckled before I said, "I don't know. I got the diner, and I don't wanna close it-"
"It's at midnight on Friday." Zion cut in, letting me know. I scratched my head, sighing quietly. "We saw the paper on the door and it said the diner has new hours. It closes everyday at 10. So you'll be able to make it." He told me with a shrug.
