Chapter 4

It's been a week since the incident at my dads house. I haven't seen much of Kane since I clocked him the next morning and told him that he could fuck himself from now on.

The twins and Logan still check in everyday like usual and I haven't seen or heard from Dominic at all.

I came out of my room dressed in a pair of what Cleo likes to call my Daisy dukes and a Jack Daniels T-shirt. I was trying to find my keys and head to work when she stopped me.

"Hey I've gotta ask you something."

I stopped at the front door and turned around. She was dressed nice in a short denim skirt and a pink tank top.

Where is she going?

"Yeah can you make it quick I've got dinner shift..."

She let out a small sigh. She had a nervous smile on her lips and was fidgeting with her fingers.

"The guys knew you were working tonight so they invited me out to Cori's with them."

I shrugged and motioned with my hand for her to continue. I knew that wasn't all of it.

"Kane's going to be there....and Dominic."

My breath caught in my throat and my eyes widened. Cleo took notice and quickly tried to cover what she just said.

"It's okay! I don't have to go I just thou-"

I held up my hand and stopped her rambling. "It's okay Cleo, just because I don't want to see them doesn't mean you can't. But thank you for considering my feelings it means a lot."

I gave her a quick hug and a kiss on the cheek and rushed out the door. I was already going to be late and truthfully I didn't want to hear anything more about Dominic or Kane right now.

I was late to work again. It feels like my body is just fighting me lately on waking up and I really need to get back on track. I walked into the dinner and it was packed. Stella and Daisy were busy serving tables but what really caught my eye was the sheriffs daughter Casey working the register and a shit eating grin on Eddies face.

His eyes met mine and I don't think his smile could get any wider. He motioned for me to follow him to the back and I did. I passed by Casey both of us cutting eyes at each other.

I followed Eddie back into his office and closed the door behind me. He took a seat at his small desk and smiled brightly at me motioning for me to sit down.

"Chevy....it gives me great pleasure to inform you that you've been fired."

Bitch say what now?

"Excuse me? And why exactly am I being fired?" I asked already having a good idea why and it was currently standing behind the register.

"You were late. 3 slip ups and you're out. Oh and don't bother threatening to tell Leanne I left her and moved in with Stella."

My mouth hung open at what he had just said. Leanne was a beautiful woman and the mother of his children while Stella wore tacky blue eye shadow and to much white diamonds perfume.

"Alright then that's fine. I'll take my paycheck and the check you still owe me from last week."

He rolled his eyes and reached into his drawer to pull out the checks. I snatched both of them away when he was done and stormed out of the diner with my middle finger in the air.

I needed a drink and the only place to go for that was Cori's. I swallowed my pride and drove off in the direction of the bar. I was going to swallow my fear and get my self a double shot on the rocks.
