The evening of the day Gloria was going to escape Aiko finally decided to do what her mother had asked her to do. She decided to solve the problem she had caused by telling the alpha of his mate. Amongst all he lived in the pack house she was the closest to him and he always listened to her. She really hoped that he listened to her this time.

For months she had avoided talking about his mate so he wouldn't lash out on her but now she could no longer postpone it. Something was telling her that everything would go haywire should she delay anymore.

She was very nervous and afraid to speak to him concerning the issue but she was no longer going to let her fear deter her from doing what's right by her mother and her leader.

"You look like you want to say something spill it out already and stop looking at me like that." Noah chided growing impatient of her staring. Aiko had been awfully quiet and she was constantly giving him the look she gave him when he had done something beyond evil and she was scared to yell him off.

"I was just being pitiful you know. You look dead and I'm sure you feel so too. I'm left to wonder who really is in a dungeon, your mate or you?"

Noah didn't say a word. His heart started beating at an alarming fast rate at her words more so because he didn't expect them. He knew she was right and it scared him that even she could see through his thick skin. He had never felt this much pain before, the pain he felt now. He found himself always thinking about his mate, "I don't want to talk about her and you know that_"

"Noah Life is loneliness, despite all the opiates, despite the shrill tinsel gaiety of "parties" with no purpose, despite the false grinning faces we all wear. And when at last you find someone to whom you feel you can pour out your soul, you stop in shock at the words you utter - they are so rusty, so ugly, so meaningless and feeble from being kept in the small cramped dark inside you so long. Yes, there is joy, fulfillment and companionship - but the loneliness of the soul in its appalling self consciousness is horrible and overpowering."

Aiko said thoughtfully. I saw this somewhere anyway but my point is now that you have found your mate You have a companion. Not only is she your mate but she's the kind of woman you like, beautiful and fierce the kind of woman that can rule this park with you by her side. Do not let her hate you more than she already does and trust me it is already a lot of hate. Every second she remains in that dungeon your life is going closer to infinite pain Noah."

Noah sighed standing up. Truer words had never been spoken to him but he still felt so helpless. "She must already hate me so much now, much more than the devil if she does believe in him." He laughed sadly, pressing his eyes with his fingers.

"Well you better let her out and let her tell you that herself. Then you can try fixing it"

"You're right." Noah agreed sighing deeply. He bent down resting his head on the chair. He tried so hard to decide but after a while his fear gave way and he took in deep breathes. "Let's go free my mate." He said, chuckling nervously. It was the first time Aiko saw him smile in a long time.

Aiko sighed not actually believing her luck. She was relieved he listened to her although she could have almost sworn that he wouldn't. The battle in her mind seized. The moment she saw him smile she knew she had done the right thing.

He put on his cloak and she stood up right after he did. There was a lot going through the alpha's mind at this moment but mostly he was scared of Gloria. Scared of seeing her again, scared of how she would react, scared of how he will. He hoped that he could still redeem himself.

When they got to the cell Aiko behind him, no one would have suspected that anything had gone wrong. The room at the far end of the pack house was just as he had seen it the last time he came here. It was just like it was, just like it always was. It was a special place and she had been the only one to have been there for ten years the alpha didn't particularly like cells, he preferred to kill his enemies.

"Why are you just standing there?" Aiko asked cornering the alpha. She stood in front of him now with her hands folded. "You have the key to the cell don't you?"

He inhaled shaking his head. "I'm scared. I feel something is wrong. I Can't feel her presence."

"Because you haven't marked her yet. Now I won't let you chicken out of this plan you got it!"

"Aiko! Something is wrong and it has nothing to do with chickening out of this plan. I can feel it. Matter of fact I could always feel her presence even without marking her. And you of all people know that that's just a ritual of little importance. The mate bond goes beyond a bite"

"Well that's good, All that proves is that your souls are bound and that she's your mate. Now, if Something is indeed wrong the best we can do is to find out what is." She stretched her hands to the door, "so open it."

Noah nodded. He opened the door whilst holding his breathe. The sight that met him caused his heart to skip and he started to breathe unevenly. "She's not here." Noah screamed looking into her cell. "She's not here." He repeated. He was like a mad man, fury and pain buried in his eyes. Aiko looked at the cell in shock and then looked back at the Alpha with fear.

"What the hell." She finally muttered getting out of her startled state.

Noah rushed passed her. He could have easily followed Gloria's scent but he was too disorganized to put his thoughts together in other to enable him use his power. Getting out of the cell he howled so loud the whole wolf community was put on alert. The last time the alpha howled the pack was under attack by rebels and that was twelve years ago.

Jacob heard the alpha's howl and was quickly alerted.

"He has caught up to us. We have to run." Jacob said to Gloria panting. They were both scared. Gloria cursed her fate and the alpha.
