"I've got a hundred million reasons to talk away
But baby, I just need one good one, good one
Baby, I just need one good one to stay."

- Million Reasons

Mira stepped into the room, looking around for Aaron. She slowly made her way to him as he stood up, quickly.

"Where were you? Our appointment was supposed to start twenty minutes ago." He was mad, irritated, with her. She had already expected that.

Ignoring him, she wiped her hands against her faded denim jeans. She looked up at him, his eyes set on her hands. The slight dirt on her hands probably gave it away.

He'd already figured out where she'd been all morning.

"Mira." His voice was gentle this time, his eyes set on her hands still.

"I don't think I can do this." Mira took a step back, her lower lip quivering. "I can't do this."

She took a few deep breaths, shaking her head as her eyes filled with tears. She wasn't ready to talk.

"Mira. Breathe." Awkwardly, he reached out for her, his hand barely touching her arm before she pulled away. "We'll be fine Mira. I promise."

Mira looked down at her hands. They were dirty, painted with brown dirt and grass stains.

She placed a hand over her stomach. Almost a habit, something she did far too often.

"Dr. Perez is ready for you." Mira turned, glancing at the receptionist.

"We don't have to." She ignored Aaron as he spoke quietly, only so she could hear. His hand draped over her waist. "Mira, we don't have to do this if you aren't ready."

And Mira, she wanted to laugh, bitterly.

It was so hard to hate him. Hard to hate him especially when he cared so much.

"I'll be okay." She nodded, trying to convince herself. "We'll be okay."

But truth be, she wasn't ready to talk. She wasn't sure she'd ever be able to talk about it.

She looked down at her hands again.

Aaron was the one who wanted to try and see a marriage counselor. He was the one who thought that talking to someone would help them, would help them solve their problems.

She was doing this for him. And he, he was doing for them, for their marriage.

Without another thought, she followed the receptionist to the room. Aaron right behind her.

Mira sat down on the sofa, right in the middle.

"Elena will be in shortly." The receptionist smiled before walking out.

Mira looked up at Aaron as he sat down next to her, puffing out his cheeks. Sighing, he looked around the office. But Mira, she kept looking at him.

She narrowed her eyes, her hand tracing the small cut on his jaw.

And she couldn't help but wonder if there was someone else but her.

If Aaron already had someone else to comfort him. If Aaron already had someone else to love.

But she knew, she knew very well that it wasn't so. Because if it was true, he wouldn't be trying to do everything he could to save their marriage. To save the two of them.
