Roses and Sunflowers

You gave him your number for the house phone a few days before his set discharge date but warned that you weren't often home to use the phone. He then asked for your address "in case of emergencies."

You smirked and refused to reply but then he countered with a promise of a date.

He had questioned, "Well then how am I supposed to get in touch with you for the thing we discussed upon my discharge from rehab?"

A laugh escaped your lips at this retort and you nod in defeat. "Fine. *Insert address here*"

"Alright. I'll see you on Tuesday night."

"How did you-?"

"You were always there on Tuesday nights except for one when a nurse came in complaining about how you used your off day so she'd have to take care of my 'useless thug ass'"

You sigh. "I'm sorry."

"You people seem to forget that I could still hear everything. But it wasn't your fault."

He brought me home and we hung out for a few hours before he mentioned the date. "It's Tuesday."

"Yes. But I have no way to go pick her up or anything."

"I can be the chauffeur or something. Go get ready."

"Man, if I still had my bike..."

"But you don't. What you do have is a really pretty girl who somehow accepted to go on a date with you."

"That's unbelievably true."

Daveed stayed in the car as I walked up
to her apartment. She told me the number and floor when I had proposed the idea so I really hope she wasn't lying as some joke.

I took a deep breath before knocking softly on the door.

After a few seconds, the locks began shifting and the door opened up to her standing with black heeled boots and a maroon colored dress fit subtly to her curves.

I think my mouth was slightly open because she rolled her eyes and motioned for me to step inside.

"Don't act like you've never seen a girl in a dress before."

"N-no, I have it's just-"

"It's not scrubs. I know."

"No, not even that. I knew you were a babe and all but shit."

"Don't call me a babe."

"My bad, sorry, darlin'."

"Sure. You, uh you look good. Nice threads."

I breathe out a small sigh of relief as she recognizes the effort I put into myself tonight for her. "Thanks. I tried for you, of course."

She cracks a small smile and it might be out of pity...but then again, it might not.

"So where are you dragging me to tonight?"

Y/N smirks as she asks this and I know she's simply puttin' up a front now.

"Dinner. And maybe a walk or something. It's whatever you'd like."

She nods and walks towards the door where I am. I gesture for her to walk out first and I close the door behind us, making sure that it's locked.
