"I'm going to miss this," I sighed, resting my head on Zayn's bare shoulder.
"It's only ten days," he replied. "And I'll be right here when you get back."
"I wish you could come with me," I muttered.
"Baby, I wish I could too. I'm working on Michelle. I think her and management are starting to come around. Hopefully we can go public before the next break and you come to Bradford with me. My sisters are dying to meet you."
"I want to meet them too!" I said. "I know I snuck in for second on your Skype with Waliyha, but it's not the same."
"Soon," he promised, kissing my forehead. He flicked on the television and grinned at me like a kid. "We can sit and watch television. When was the last time we had a day where we could do nothing."
"It has been a long time," I agreed. "Your morning interviews have destroyed my sleep schedule."
"Really? That's what has messed up your sleeping habits?" He asked, waggling his eyebrows.
"That and there's this really cute guy who's been keeping me up at night," I trailed off, letting my hands wander across his body. He rolled over so he was on top of me, suspending his weight on his elbows and kissed me slowly. "What happened to doing nothing?" I giggled when he broke away.
"This is more fun," he replied, pressing his lips to mine.
I smiled into the kiss and soon enough we were picking up where we had left off last night. When we had sufficiently tired ourselves out out I forced myself to get out of bed. "I need to pack."
Zayn raised an eyebrow. "You don't want to stay and snuggle with me."
"Zayn, when have we ever just snuggled?" I laughed.
"When other people are around?" He offered, laughing along with me.
"And speaking of other people, I have three waiting for me in Minnesota who are going to be really put out if I miss my flight," I said, putting my clothes back on.
"I'll get you a plane," Zayn said, tugging on my arm to bring me back to bed.
"Tempting. But no," I smiled, kissing his nose. "Are you coming to see me off at the airport?"
"Wouldn't miss it!" He said, standing up. I tried not to stare but it clearly wasn't working because he grinned. "Like what you see?"
"Meh. I'm not impressed."
Zayn frowned and stuck his tongue out at me. "I'll meet you in the lobby in an hour?"
"I'll be there!" I said. I walked down the hallway and shuffled into my room. I made sure that everything I'd need for the next ten days was in the duffel bag I had borrowed from Harry.
"Don't leave us!" Louis wailed an hour later when I was watching my suitcase get loaded into the trunk of the town car. He pulled me into a bone- crushing hug, "If you're gone who is going to make sure my stripes don't clash?"
"Oxygen, Lou," I choked. He set me back down and I pulled him into a more reasonable embrace. "You'll be ok. I'm sure Eleanor won't let you look ridiculous."
"As if she could stop him," Liam teased, wrapping his arms around me. "I'll miss you, Gemma."
"I'll miss you too, Li-li," I said, pecking him on the cheek. "And you," I added, hugging Harry.
"We'll see you when you get back!" He said, returning the hug. I gave them one final wave before getting into the back of the car where Zayn and Niall were waiting.
Zayn nuzzled his face into my neck. "I don't want you to go," he grumbled as the driver pulled onto the highway. "I'm going to miss you way too much."
"I'm going to miss you too, babe," I sighed. I laced my fingers with his before asking, "how are things coming with Michelle? You two were talking when I came to the lobby."
"She's pretty much come around!" He said cheerfully. "There's still a couple people on our team who are hesitating, but by the time you get back I'm optimistic that she'll have them convinced."
"That's great!" Niall piped up. "You two can finally go on a date! No more third- wheeling for me!"
"And what a great third- wheel you've been, Nialler!" Zayn said, ruffling his hair playfully.
The three of us carried on a light conversation for the entire fifty minute ride to the airport. When we got there we were assaulted by dozens of flashing cameras the moment we stepped out of the car. Zayn's phone buzzed and his face lit up like it was Christmas.
"What's got you so happy?" I asked as the driver unloaded mine and Niall's luggage.
"Look!" He said gleefully.
Michelle Danvers: Talked it over with the rest of the team. You have the blessing of management. Go ahead and go public with Gemma.
"Oh my god! Zayn!" I squealed, jumping up and down. I wrapped my arms around him in a tight hug. "No more hiding!"
"No more hiding!" He repeated wondrously.
"Zayn! Zayn!" The paparazzi called. "Niall!" They added when the blonde boy walked over to join us.
"Michelle said we can go public!" I informed him instantly.
His face lit up. "That's great!"
"Niall, what do you say to the rumors that you and Gemma are an item?" One of the paps asked.
"They're just rumors," I answered for him. "I have a boyfriend, and it's not Niall."
"Oh yeah? Who are you dating?" A different pap asked.
"Me!" Zayn said loudly, and before I knew it I was in his arms and his lips came crushing down onto mine, the camera's lights flashing all around us.
Sorry I know this wasn't my finest chapter, but I was pretty much done with them having to sneak around. Maybe I'll make the next chapter in a different P.O.V. Thoughts? I'm not going to do it unless someone comments...
