"You're finally here, Elfleda." Kyungii grinned at her and placed his hand on her shoulder.

"This better be good."

Kyungii pulled out his loot, and of all the guns, a golden gun caught Gwen's eye. "It's a Groza, hun," he smirked, "a notch higher than your AUG."

"Now this is the new sex." He handed Gwen the gun and she inspected it carefully.

700 rounds per minute eh? This is dope. Gwen grinned and she spotted a couple of guys giving her dirty looks on the sidewalk.

Reloading the gun, she fired straight at them and they were killed instantly.

"The firepower's amazing," Gwen added, "Thanks bud. I'll keep it, but I think I'm more interested to get a sniper rifle for our next mission."

Gwen walked over to their lifeless corpses and squat down. She took some of the crimson red blood of the victims and licked it off her fingers.

"The blood of scumbags," she remarked in disgust, staring at their bodies without remorse nor regret.

"You're a real freak, Elfie." Kyungii nodded slowly, "but I gotta admit, that's what I like about you. You're different. So, so different."

But Gwen was nowhere near paranoid in real life. She was just an 18-year-old trying to get out of high school as soon as possible. And because Eregor was her way of venting her frustration and de-stressing from her sickening life, she felt as though she had become too violent in the game for her own good.

Afterall, dying and respawning elsewhere was part and parcel of Eregor. She had been playing the game for 2 years now, and both Kyungii and Gwen had experienced in-game death many times, especially in their earlier days.

Of course, all heroes start from zero. Being pros at the top of the game after 2 years of trial and error in the field, Gwen and Kyungii learnt how to escape the clutches of death, especially on missions where they had to raid other gangs' hideout, under Kaomos' orders.

The night went by in a flash because she had slept through ten alarms and her Dad was the eleventh and the shrillest alarm of them all.

"Gwen! Hurry up or you'll be late for school!" Gwen's father yelled sharply from downstairs. He went to fetch the newspaper from the doorstep and something caught his eye. "Gwen!"

Gwen got out of bed groggily and slipped on a hoodie T-shirt and a pair of slacks before heading downstairs for breakfast. It was a little chilly that morning, especially since it rained the night before.

"What?" She was still rubbing her eyes as she reached the foot of the staircase.

Geez...last night's raid is really taking a toll on me. She thought.
