 THE WILD LIFE

*

february. 2010

Finn took a deep breath and then slowly exited his car. He saw Dom and Mike standing next to a black Cadillac SUV in the distance.  They were in the middle of nowhere and Dom wanted to talk about some things, although Finn had no idea what those things were. It scared him to death.

The young man slowly approached the two older men.  Finn balled his fist and sighed.

"What are we here for?" He questioned sheepishly. He could feel his forehead starting to sweat and his heart was throbbing out of his chest.

Dom pursed his lips. "I think you know. It's about Millie."

Finn's eyes widened a bit. The mention of his friend's name instantly made him even more nervous than before. Ever since Mike and Marvin had asked about Millie's whereabouts, he was worried that they wanted her dead. Dom questioning him about Millie just confirmed his theory.

"Where is the girl?" He added moments later.

The boy with curly hair chuckled. "I don't know. All I know is, she is very far away from here. She's probably left the country."

Mike slowly began to reach to his hip. Finn noticed the sudden movement and knew that Mike was probably reaching for a weapon. He needed to act fast.

"There are a few different outcomes of this scenario." He stated. Mike stopped all movement and cocked his head while Dom put his hands into his pockets.

"First of all, you could just kill me now and then spend a few weeks tracking Millie, and then kill her too. But what do you get out of that? Nothing. You lose the best meth cook you've ever had and waste your time finding a dumb teenage girl."

The older men had to admit that Finn was right. It didn't really make any sense to spend weeks, possibly months, searching for Millie. And they didn't know if Marvin had the 'perfect meth' recipe memorized, so they didn't want to kill Finn.

"Or we could just go back to normal and forget about the incident with Millie. Personally, I favor this option." Finn retorted, out of breath.

Dom sighed and turned on his heels. He opened the passenger door of the SUV and then stared at Finn. "We will see you at the lab tomorrow."

_

Finn repeatedly knocked his fist on the wooden door as he shifted his weight from foot to foot.  All of a sudden the door slowly opened and it startled the boy a bit. He laughed it off and then stepped inside the small apartment.
