"c'mon, c'mon, c'mon!" jeongguk urged his computer, his leg nervously shaking beneath the desk as he bit on the end of his thumb's nail. it was ninety eight percent done with the work, but the time it was consuming sent cold sweat down the boy's forehead. "just one more-.." his words got stuck in his throat as the computer screen turned black, leaving the once dimly lit room in complete darkness.
"fuck." the boy muttered to himself, quickly getting onto the floor to yank out any cables stuck in the sockets just incase F.E.A.R were to try and track him down – which, of course, they would, that's why they exist in this technologically advanced dystopia the robots had created for humans.
jeongguk simply lay on his bed, his eyes running all over the room as the sound of his heart was the only thing pulsating into his eardrums. he usually wasn't this nervous about his cyber crimes – but having F.E.A.R find out he's completely human when they catch him, he'll be treated like a lab rat. prodded with every possible stick to find out how he can survive in the world that has lost its oxygen.

"open up, we know you're in there." at last. he'd thought to himself, staring out the window wondering if he'd ever survive a six story drop onto rock hard cement. "we will kick down the door if we have to!" the same voice yelled, again firmly knocking twice. jeongguk rolled his eyes, trudging to the door only to look through the peephole – one regular, two robo guards with assault weapons. i have a ten percent chance of surviving if i open the door, and a two percent chance if i don't.
the noirette slowly turned the knob only to be pushed back with force as the robo guards began to raid his apartment. "ouch?" he rubbed his shoulder, watching the robots scan his room for anything threatening as the regular walked around searching under dirty clothes tossed on the floor and examining everything loitered on his desk.
"it's all clear, sir, the source is not here." the regular rested his palm against the surface desk, almost in an annoyed manner. "it has to be, why else would we get a set location right here instead of this whole ward? scan it again."
an involuntary smug look replaced the annoyance on jeongguk's face as he knew exactly why the high tech robo guards could not detect anything unusual – his tech was from before they were created, before earth got tracking devices and were forced into the slavery of technology.
"sir, this computer cannot be read." the regular moved along the desk, sitting in the chair accompanied with it and stared assiduously at the black screen as if knowing something was off. "arrest him. we'll take him into the precinct for questioning."

"so what are we looking at? underground government cyber crime or a rascal thinking he's too good for this place?" two men stood on the other side of the one-way mirror, watching jeongguk stare right at them with a straight face. "i don't think he works for the underground, but he doesn't seem like a rascal either. we still haven't pinpointed what he tried redacting from the servers, but it didn't seem like he was interested in criminal files." the younger of the two responded, his eyes squinting at what the boy was doing with his hands beneath the table.
