We were approaching Nadine's enormous household. Her house had white shiny pillars and windows cleaned to perfection. I could already see what was happening inside. Which was chaos. One would have to admit this was a perfect place to throw a house party. Or in this case, a mansion party.
The path was a red bricked and aligned smoothly. The green lawn -that was very spacious- was well maintained and cut to look pristine. I bet if I took a magnifying glass there wouldn't be a single blade of grass trimmed unevenly. I didn't even have to re think that if anything was damaged, it would get repaired in a finger snap.
Daddy got some dough.
There were groups of teens outside hanging about, drinking from red cups that most likely contained alcohol. Personally, drinking doesn't appeal to me. I'm not your typical party animal, and the first time I tried beer I spat it out as if I tasted urine. Might as well have.
Before we were even fully inside, I could clearly hear what song was playing. Flo Rida's-Whistle was blasting to the extreme.
"Alright, Tam. Lets kick some popular butt!" Sydney cheered.
I laughed inside my head because we had yet to tell Jess what exactly he was suppose to do. But tonight was the night where we came clean with everything. About time.
No one payed attention to us as we entered through the front door. I grabbed hold of Sydney's arm to make sure we wouldn't get separated. I closed the mahogany door behind us and navigated towards a less crowded area. There were so many guests, it almost made inside look average sized. I imagined the interior would look beautiful if you excluded the rowdy teenagers.
"Let's try to find Jess!" I shouted over the loud music.
Sydney nodded in reply, and copied me as I put a hand over my eyes while tip toeing and searched.
I stupidly forgot to text him to ask where he would be. The amount of people in here was ridiculous, and the music pounding was distracting me. It would be a miracle if we located him.
Giving up, I flattened my feet and put my hand down.
"Sydney, did you f-"
I looked over to see the little red head gone.
Seriously now.......
I look away from one moment, and the girl is mysteriously absent!?
"Sydney! Where are you!?" I yelled over Maroon 5's new song One More Night. Gosh, I'm kind of proud I know the names of these songs.
I repeated the process I performed when looking for Jess, but no success.
I pursed my lips wondering what on earth I was going to do now. I can't find Jess, Sydney miraculously disappeared, and there's no one at this party that I'm familiar with. Well let me rephrase that, people I've socialized with. Talking to people when me, Jess, and Sydney were tackling Society doesn't really count.
Just when I thought things were going to get worse, I felt a hand squeeze my butt.
I whirled around to see the culprit. It was a drunk guy swaying as if we were on a boat travelling on rough waters.
"Heyy, baaaabe." His a's drawled noticeably. The guy was so close that I didn't even have to strain to hear him over the noise.
"I would appreciate it if you would keep you hands to yourself." I said coldly.
I felt the need to slap him in the face, but the boy was clearly wasted, causing an unfair advantage.
"Feisty. I like that."
