Toby was so broken. He seemed so stressed out because of these kids. Why? They aren't his kids. Toby cried himself to sleep after muttering to himself. I didn't know what he was saying, but it seemed to calm him down enough to get some sleep. I know he needs it.
I laid him down and sighed. I wanted so much to lay down with him, but I was starving and I also wanted to get to know my daughter.
My daughter. It felt foreign on my tongue. I loved saying it. She was beautiful and her eyes were the perfect mix of colors. I left to the kitchen.
As I made my way to the kitchen, I heard conversation. I leaned close, masking my powers.
"I cant believe you're poisonous. Have you hurt anyone with your tail?" It was Dawn and Luna.
"Only those gross men that were stabbing me with their needles. Oddison mostly. Damien was an accident."
"Damien?" They boys asked in unison.
"Yeah. Oddison would get mad and raise his hand to strike me, but Damien would pull me back. I didn't like them and know them all that well so my skin reacted and I singed his hands pretty badly."
"That's very interesting. Home come you didn't hurt us? I didn't know you and you were very tense but when I shook you hand, you didn't hurt me," Dawn asked. You could hear the child like awe in his voice.
"You don't need to spy on us, dad," I felt my face redden. I guess she could sense I was there. "I can actually read minds and yours is very confusing."
"Alright alright," I said, walking into the room with them. They looked shocked, mainly Dawn but Dusk seemed to enjoy it.
Luna hugged me tightly and I smiled. She was so beautiful, so young. Luna started to blush. Oops, I forgot she could read my mind. "Good job, dad," she said, giggling.
My stomach growled and everyone went silent. They all started to laugh and I smirked. Luna let me go and I went to the fridge to get something, anything to eat that I didn't have to make. I scanned the fridge until my eyes fell onto the bowl of what looked to be spaghetti. I pulled it out and licked my lips.
"So my question from before, why didn't you hurt us when you didn't know us?" Dawn asked.
Luna hummed for a second and sighed. "I truly don't know. It might be because you're my family and I don't hurt family. Twilight would hold me all the time and she never got hurt either. It might be because of that." Dawn opened his mouth to ask another question, but Dusk cleared his throat.
"Let her breathe and relax for a day before bombarding her with questions. Besides, you need your sleep and Father told you to get more of it." Dawn pouted but Dusk snapped his fingers and they teleported.
I scooped some spaghetti into a bowl and put it in the microwave. Luna didn't leave when they did, in fact she was staring at me. "Something wrong?" I asked.
Luna blinked and shook her head. "I'm just thinking. It's hard to tell the voices apart. What are you eating?"
"Spaghetti. It's pasta, meat and sauce. Wanna try some?" Luna nodded and I made her a bowl before I put the rest into the fridge. I took my bowl out and put the other bowl in. She tapped her feet and hummed.
"Can I ask a question?" She asked. I gave a nod, licking my fork. "Mom really missed you when were held in the place underground. He said that you'll be king and he'll be queen. Does that make me a princess?"
"I believe you would be. You'd be the fourth of course due to you being the youngest," I told her. The microwave beeped and I pulled out a fork for her and handed her the bowl.
