Falling For You

Stuck again

She pulls her phone from her ear and she realizes her phone is dead.

" Oh God, what didn't I charge my phone. I just hope Neil heard me"

She sits down in a corner and wraps her arms around herself. Half an hour later she hears a sound coming from the door and Neil busts in.

" Avni? " he looks around trying to see her in the dark, he sees her and goes to meet her and the door starts to close behind him.

" No No No, Neil. Don't let the door close" she yells

He runs to the door but it closes before he gets there. He pulls the door again and again but it doesn't open.

" what's wrong with the door? " he asks

" I think it can only be opened from outside. Something's wrong with the handle" she answers

" And the light?" he asks

" stopped working " she says

" do you have your phone with you?" she asks him

He shakes his head

" why didn't you bring it with you" she says

" I left it in the car when I was rushing to get in the house"

She sighs and they both sit down, Avni a little bit closer to Neil because of the dark.

" an unlucky day, right?" Neil says but Avni doesn't answer.

He looks at her and sees her scared face, he turns and cups her face.

" Avni what's wrong?" Neil asks her

" N-Neil I'm" She begins

" Go on, say it" he encourages her

"I-I'm scared of the dark"

" Scared? Why?" he looks at her

She doesn't say anything " Avni Pls tell me"

" I-" She tells him about how Dayawanti locked her into a storeroom, and left her there with rats and all sorts of insects, in the dark.

" Oh Avni, I'm sorry all that happened" he holds her to his chest " but I'm here now, you don't need to cry, you don't have to worry again" he assures her

" Thank you" She says and holds him closer

She holds him for some time but then pulls away, she wipes her tears and sits back

" How are we going to get out of here?" Avni asks

Neil stands and looks round the room for anything that could help, he comes back and sits down " we don't have a choice we just have to wait until everyone comes back"

" OK"

" I'm sorry" Neil says

" for what? " Avni asks

" you called me for help and I ended up being useless, just taking up space in the storeroom" Neil says and Avni giggles

" what's funny? " he asks

" Nothing" she laughs " and yeah, you just ended up being useless"

" Gee, thanks" he rolls his eyes

They sit in comfortable silence and after sometime Neil talks

" You know what let's play a game" Neil says

" what game?" Avni asks

" Hide and seek" Neil smirks

" Uh..that's so childish " she rolls her eyes

" Come on, we don't have anything to do and this storeroom is pretty big, and I love hide and seek" Neil states

" OK fine"

"...5,4,3,2,1" Neil counts " I'm coming" He moves around to look for Avni.

Avni sees him coming her way and shifts farther, then she stops when she hears a ripping sound.

" oh no" she mouths, her dress is ripped by a nail at the back of a cupboard, revealing her bra.

"shit" she says
