She flew around her palace, preparing for the worst. She held up her small box, the one given to her by her parents, the one that held her teeth, her memories.
She opened it up, and let the memories wash over her.
The screams, pain, blood, and fire. The fear. But there was also hope, and joy, and happiness. As well as loss. And sacrifice.
She had lived her life. She had known so many emotions and feelings. And though most of the time, she pretended to be happy, cheerful, and upbeat... She was broken inside.
To have watched her parents die, it had broken her beyond repair.
And though they saved her life, she hurt.
She wouldn't want that pain on anyone.
But if the need arouse, she would be willing.
