So, I've been thinking about what my favorite kind of cake is.
I love ice cream cake, but I'm lactose intolerant, and my pills only last about half an hour. It's also a little too filling and I prefer warm cake.
Chocolate cake is ok. A good chocolate cake is MOIST and soft. Most chocolate cake is too rich, and the adding of frosting ruins the texture.
I've only had strawberry cake once, and it was for my third birthday. It was pretty good,the cake was a bit too tart for my picky 3 year old self, but it wasn't too bad.
Lemon cake has recently become my favorite cake EVER. The best cake in town is a café called Café de Marie. Their cakes are heavenly. A good lemon cake has a perfect ratio of sweet and tart. It's smooth, bouncy texture basicly melts in your mouth. The glaze loosens the moist batter and is then blanketed by a layer of icing.
Now I really want some cake!!!! Go check out café de Marie if you live in the area. Their cake goes perfectly with their God like tea. Their lunches are also great!
