I walked towards the lockerroom with Ryan and Elle in my arms with a smile on my face. I talked to Ryan for a bit before I heard a squeal. I turned and saw Steph running towards me.
"Brynn Valentine! I've missed you so much!" She said as she hugged me and took Elle out of my arms.
I laughed and hugged back. "I've missed you too. Mitch is not the best with filling me in on other people."
She giggled and spun Elle around. Mitch walked out of the lockerroom with a big grin on his face as he joined Steph while chanting 'It'll take seven'. He stopped Steph and gave her a kiss before turning to me and giving Ryan and I a hug. He took Elle this time and ran towards the lockerroom.
"Marner don't let my daughter see anyone naked or I swear I will kill you!" He just laughed and ran inside.
Steph turned to me and spoke. "How have you been? God you look great!"
I beamed. "I've been good Steph. LA has been everything and more to me. I'm close to this guy again," I elbowed Ryan. "So that's a plus."
She nodded. "And how about Alec?"
I smiled at his name. "He's good. We're good. Everything is good!"
She smiled and turned to the lockerroom as the door flew open again. This time Elle came out first followed by the Leafs gigantic goalie. He let go of Elle's hand and gave me a hug.
"So what you didn't tell me at practice yesterday was that you were coming to the game." He said with a smile.
"That's the point of a surprise big head." Ryan replied.
Freddie laughed and picked up Elle. Everyone started to file out of the lockerroom and say their hellos to loved ones. I watched everyone with a smile and felt a tug on my arm.
"Breyana!" I said and hugged the small girl.
"Oh my gosh, Brynn I thought you hated us or something." She said with a laugh.
I chuckled and talked with her before Freddie stepped towards me.
"Do you mind if I steal her for a moment?" He asked Breyana.
She shook her head and smiled at me. She waved goodbye and I turned to Freddie.
"Go talk to him." He said quietly to where only I could hear it.
He nodded his head towards the direction of the lockerroom and I headed that way. I slipped in and saw him sitting in his stall watching highlights of the Washington-Columbus game.
"Ovechkin scores twice. I was secretly hoping that TJ Oshie would have scored though." I said.
He looked up at me and smiled. "You only have the biggest crush on TJ Oshie. What was it that you told me on our first date?"
I giggled. "That he was my favorite American player and no one would ever change that."
He nodded and laughed. I took a step closer to his stall. "I was hoping you would have scored tonight."
He looked down at his hands. "Well Boston has got one hell of a goalie on their end. He made some pretty good saves. Especially on me."
I nodded. I took another step and was standing directly in front of him. I kneeled down and laid my hands over his.
"Why aren't you happy about this win? You survived another game. Your team is proving themselves against Boston's Top Line." I asked.
He sighed. He pulled his hands out from under mine and laid his back against the wall of his stall.
"Just been a long couple of months Brynn." He said quietly.
I stayed where was kneeled and put my head down.
"I'm sorry." I said softly.
He opened his eyes and looked at me confused. This time he leaned forward and grabbed my hands.
"Don't apologize. It's not your fault. It's mine. I was stupid and careless. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for what I put you through and for pushing you out of Toronto and away from Steph and Mitch and Freddie and your mom." I interrupted him.
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves Auston. My mom's relationship with me was strained way before I met you." I told him.
"Where's Alec?" He asked.
"He had to head back to LA. I think Hank got sick." I said.
He nodded and sighed. He went to speak up before we heard a knock on the lockerroom door. I stood up from Auston and turned towards the sound. Freddie entered and had his hand on Morgan's shoulder. He pushed Morgan into the lockerroom and shut the door behind him.
"Morgan has something he wants to say to you Brynn." Freddie said.
I looked at him then at Morgan. Morgan took a step towards me and spoke.
"I'm sorry for pushing Auston into ending your relationship. I never wanted to hurt the either of you. You were good for Auston. So I apologize." He said with us head down.
I smiled and walked towards him, giving him a hug. He was caught off guard before he relaxed and hugged me back.
"Apology accepted. Now you guys should hurry up and change. You should at least celebrate for a little bit before you head to Boston." I said excitedly.
"Will you be with us?" Auston asked curiously.
I looked at him and smiled. "Only if you want me to be."
He smiled at me and nodded. I walked out of the lockerroom and met up with Steph, Mitch, and Ryan.
"Let's go out to dinner to celebrate." I claimed.
Mitch nodded eagerly while Steph and Ryan talked about good places to go. It felt just like old times.
