I lay around in bed, moping about the day. Why the heck did Dad have to ground me? It's not like I even did anything wrong.

It's not that I'd even mind something like this before I actually started going outside more often. It's just the feeling of being trapped against my will that's bothering me. Damn... Things are just getting worse for my life.

Why is it that the longer you sit around at home, the sleepier you feel? I just had 10 hours of sleep, but was feeling exhausted from nothing. To keep myself awake, I rolled about in my bed. Queen sized, so there was enough space to move about. And to keep my collection of plushies.

"Violetta, are you in there?" I heard my Mom calling me. The door creaked as I opened it and peeked through the little crevice that it made. "Your Dad and I are going to buy some groceries. Want me to get you anything?" I pulled a moody face and shook my head. The last thing I wanted was for him to even acknowledge me after what happened.

After I heard their car drive off, my body plummeted onto the bed again. To combat this boredom of mine, I picked up my controller, connected to a monitor to play Zombie Slashers II. Just as I was in the middle of a boss fight, the phone rang. I only glanced at it for a short while, just to see who it was... Luka?

I attempted to use my elbow to swipe and pick it up the call. Instead, I rejected it. Shit. Hopefully he doesn't take it the wrong way. I waited till the boss is dead to return the call.

We exchanged greetings, him sounding cheerier than expected. He even told me that my voice sounded as lovely on the phone as in real life. I had to cover my mouth to contain the scream that I was about to let out. But I wonder what it was that he wanted, so I asked casually, trying not to give too much of an interest.

"Look outside your window," he instructed, which I did. True enough, he was standing right there along the roadside. "Oh, what I would give to be with my lovely princess," he commented, gesturing actions which you would see in a drama club.

It was so cheesy, yet enticing. He definitely had a certain charm to himself which you wouldn't notice at first glance. But I eventually started to warm up to him as he revealed more sides of him to me. "Is there something you need from me?" Damn. I wasn't planning to sound cold.

"How's you and me go out to the library together?" he asked. Wow. Nerdy. But if anything, I've started to become a little nerdy recently, and I was already a geek to begin with, so it kind of fit there.

Either way, it didn't matter. I couldn't go, and I had to remind him why. He thought long and hard to find an alternative solution. That's right. He was definitely bored. Or lonely. Or both.

After a minute of staring, he came up with a suggestion. "My fair maiden trapped in the tower, if you cannot come down, then I shall go find you. That means entering, so open the door, please." He had to clarify that last part, in case I hadn't caught it. I understood, though at first I did think he'd actually scale the walls of my house.

I rushed down without thinking about the fact that Dad would scream even more if Luka was still here by the time my parents returned. But isn't that what teenagers do all the time? I had to live a little; take some risks. Even though the punishments far outweigh the benefits. Or not.

Luka stepped carefully into the house, inspecting that the coast was definitely clear before proceeding in further. I guided him to my room and told him to make himself feel at home. Once there, he stood in astonishment at the sight of my room, more so than the rest of the place.

"Whoa, you really do have a princess room, don't you? Violet walls for a girl named Violetta. It's fitting." I've had the same wallpaper since I was four. I've been wanting to change it to go with my current outfits, but that would require permission from Dad—impossible to obtain at this point.

I caught him laughing, as well as his little blush. I get it. It's embarrassing. And probably not dark enough for his tastes. I awaited him to tell me about how childish and dorky my room was. "C'mon. If you have something to say, then say it."

"It's cute, like you," he responded, catching me off guard. What? Not only did he say nothing terrible about it, he even turned it into a compliment for me. I shut the door and turned on my console to get my mind to chill out. Meanwhile, Luka took a seat on my bed, resting his head on my collection.

I showed him my game collection. Not sure if he's even into them, as I don't recall ever seeing him play video games, or owning consoles. Still, it didn't stop me from asking him, "So, Playpoint or Zbox?" And of course, what a surprise! He had no clue what nonsense I'm saying. Oh, fuck me!

In any case, I searched through my digital account for games that he might be interested in. He's a guy, so an FPS might suit him. But I highly doubt so, if he's not used to playing games in general. Instead, I found an old racing game, which I normally played alone, but now that he's around...

I connected the old, dusty controller that had been sitting around on my desk for ages, waiting to be picked up by somebody. I was player one, of course, as I booted up the game. Even though I could teach him the rules beforehand, I, being overly excited, decided to just quickly inform him of the basic controls and let him figure things out by himself.

Most of the rounds consisted of me totally trashing him and him spinning around in on spot. At a certain point in time, I actually started taking pity on him.

Luka sighed and placed the controller down. "I give up. It's too hard," he admitted. Shit. I hope I didn't hurt his feelings. I mean, it was my idea to play a game that he had totally never played before. Maybe even heard of.

I decided to play a round of single player. Just so he could actually see how the game was played by someone more experienced. He nodded politely and watched quietly, observing it closely. When that was done, he requested me to play another round in my own. I couldn't get why he wanted it, but I complied anyway.

As I was customizing my character, Luka crept up behind me and gave me a hug, loose enough to not affect my game. In fact, the thing affecting me was something else.

"I'd like to see how you move the controller, if that's okay with you." I didn't reply. Heck, I couldn't even tell if I myself was okay with that. His hands slid up to my stomach and my entire body started heating up. As much as I heard his intent—I couldn't help but be on high alert then—I knew his focus was on somewhere else on my body.

I sighed. What does it matter? Based on past experiences with him, he just likes teasing me. Well if you're gonna tease me, then please don't act all embarrassed to get my sympathy.

I tried my best to ignore it but his body was just too close. I couldn't help but feel like something more might happen, even if it's just wishful thinking. I pressed start on the race and waited for the right moment to begin starting my race car's engines.

And that's when he planted a kiss of my neck. That's it. I couldn't take it anymore. I spun my body around, completely ignoring the game.

"Fuck you, Luka! You made me mess up my perfect timing!"

Then he seized the opportunity to peck my forehead. "I have no regrets. So, what you gonna do about it?"

I flared up in a rage. With the power of the flames surrounding me, I pounced on him. As for him, he pretended to submit to my beatings like a fucking masochist. "Disgusting freak!" I insulted. It was all in good fun, of course.

We spent the rest of the afternoon doing our own things. Luka read the novels he brought that day, while I continued with my zombie game, which seemed to have interested him a little. I decided to show him the ropes of this game instead, seeing as he had a slight bit of passion, at the very least.
