Chapter 66

Today I went with Jennifer to find a dress for graduation. She lost 55 pounds and she looks amazing. She's gonna look great on Saturday.

After we found her a dress and some shoes, she wanted to get a tattoo, so I took her to Abby's shop. She got the word "strength" on her wrist and it came out nice. When we left there, we went out to lunch.

"So you're ready for Saturday?" I asked.

"Yes! I'm so over high school," she said shaking her head.

"I know the feeling. So who all from your family is gonna be there?"

She sighed, "my parents, my sister, both my grandmas & my aunt."

"I can't wait to meet them," I said.

"I gotta warn you though, my mom and my sister are probably the biggest bitches you'll ever meet," she said.

"Damn," I said silently.

I don't like dealing with annoying bitches, but then again, who does? The last bitch I had a problem with tried to gut me like a fish. Let's just hope & pray we don't have a problem.

It's hot as a fool today, so I guess I'm wearing a dress. After we got dressed, we went out in the blazing heat. Jennifer invited DJ & Mo also, so we're all riding together.

When we got there, we found a seat and waited for the ceremony to start.

After the graduation, we all met Jennifer's family. Her dad, David, is black and her mom, Joseline, is Puerto Rican. Both of her grandmas are super adorable and her aunt is hella cool.

Her family's nice, but she was right about one thing: her mama & her sister are two of the biggest assholes I have ever met. They talk so much shit to her and it's not even cool. You can tell her dad wants to say something about it. but he doesn't.

"So you must be the girls Jennifer spends so much time with," her mom said.

"Uh, yeah. I'm Briana."

"And I'm Monique."

"I just wanna thank you for spending time with her; I'm glad she found some genuine friends," her dad said.

"It's no problem," Monique said, "she's a really cool person."

"And thank you for helping her lose weight," her mom said, "she looks so much better now."

I watched Jennifer's smile completely disappear. I discreetly looked at everyone and they were all just shaking their heads, but her sister was laughing.

"I think she looked fine before," I said with a little annoyance in my voice.

Blake grabbed my hand and lightly squeezed it. He obviously knew I was getting pissed off.

"No, she didn't. She was repulsive then, but now she's beautiful like her sister and you girls."

"Joseline stop," David said.

I squeezed the shit out of Blake's hand because I was beyond pissed.

"I'm sorry Jennifer, I know this is your mom, but I can't just stand here and listen to her talk about you like this. What is wrong with you? How do you talk to your child like that? As her parent you're supposed to build her up, not tear her down!"

"I love her, but she -"

"Excuse my language," I said to her grandmas & aunt, "but no you don't fucking love her! If you did, you wouldn't talk to her like that. You're basically a fucking bully!"
